my son installed one of those HID lights yesterday and when he rode to my house I went outside to see the light and turn on key...nothing...lights under the seat were all lit up, we had to unplug the battery and I guess it reset it. He said he was taking light out today and going back to the regular light. hope this helps:cheers:

jimi....sorry to hear your scoot is down....I think they put the reset button facing down so no water or moisture would get in the button....mine is the same way..

Do you have the reset button any more? You should have had it replaced with the fuse.

If all you did was install the HID then pull it and put the stock bulb in and see if it starts up. If it does then your good.

test the voltage on both lugs of the 40 amp breaker. if they are the same then its not tripped. doesnt sound like it is if your battery charged.

if your battery is at least 12.8 and your getting click at the starter check battery connections and starter ground are tight.

if all good then load test the battery

I purchased 2 breakers from Napa or through drag specialties that have a internal reset....
Seems I got the info from this forum a while back..

What is the batt voltage? If low, trying hooking up another battery and try that.

Sounds like its not doing anything. Do you get an ignition light on the ehc come on when you hit run?

I would say you are looking at maybe a bad wire for the right hand control. I don't think the 07's usually have any problems with the hand control board itself. I would shed the tank and check the wires. Could also test the board with a multi meter.

Another possibility, and I would check this first cause its easier, is the solenoid... do a BBChop
http://www.bigdogbiker.com/forums/how/9373-how-fix-click-click-starter.html

Could also test the small red wire going to the starter... pull it off, with bike on, in run, hit start and see if you get 12v on the wire.

On a side note...Gee I guess I'm still crazy crazy..

hey jimizee sorry to hear.i have had so many problems with my 04 it drove me nuts.i ended up getting a manual start button mounted on the end of the solenoid that you can push in and engage your starter.this kept me from towing it home a few times and it looks cool to start it that way atleast thats what they advertise.its not a fix but it is a back up

I can relate to that. I thought my fear of being stranded caused by all the "funky" starts I've experienced were over once I got myself a Braille battery and saw how much stronger and easier it started. That was until Thursday when I was stranded by the piece of shit due to an apparent starter problem. It's ok though, luckily I only paid $40K and it's already 3 months old so I guess I can't really complain right? :bang: Needless to say, I'm about as pleased as I'm sure you are. It's simply embarassing as hell.

Cables are tight? My money is on the battery or starter at this point!! Need to load test the battery.... Maybe a bad cell or the starter took a dump.

Mine was doing the same thing a while back. I took all the wires off battery, cleaned all the ond connectors real good, cleaned the posts real good then re-installed and snugged up real good. I sprayed some of that anti corrosion spray that U get from autozone on the terminals and posts and (knock on wood) haven't had a problem since! Hope this helps.

did the whole battery and wire clean-up last weekend, and i guess for the mere fact that this is a new starter(which means its probally only rebuilt)i kinda wanted to rule that out...so i will go find me some thicker guage wire and try the battery solenoid test a little later when it cools down, for now me and shorty will be off for a swim on this hot day......

Hook it up to the tender or jump it off you vehicle that isn't running. If it starts then you have a bad battery.

Enjoy your swim with the little one and hope your back up and running soon.
