why would you want to shorten them? that would throw off the trail of the bike, it would put the frame lower in the front, it would change the flex of the bike making it ride stiffer. overall, IMO, it would screw it up unless you got into changing the angle of the neck. sounds to me like you would be opening a big can of worms.

I couldn't agree more. The rake/trail of the bike was engineered to specifications that allow the bike to perform properly under normal conditions. To change the fork length, you would need to make other changes to compensate. If you want the shorter fork version of the ridgeback, get a pitbull.

As the others have said, don't think I'd do it.

If you insist on trying it, I'd look for a set of legs from a 05-07 Chopper. Chopper's are
10" over and your Ridgeback's should be 12" over. If you didn't like it, you could put the 12" over's back on it.

I wish I had more money.
Is this the guy who was going to put the 26" wheel on the front? Bigger wheel shorter forks?

I was trying to figure out why a guy would shorten his forks and that's the only thing that I could possibly imagine.

When he originally came around he did post a picture of one he'd seen out.

If this is actually him.

Yes, that was me about a 23inch n 26 inch front wheel, however its a expensive mod, and probaly does look rediculius.

Whats the rake on a 05-07 Chopper ? if its the same rake as the ridgeback, wouldn't it be the same theory of shorting my fork 2 inches ?

If I got a 0 degree tree's and shorten it 2 inch, would that work ?

Stock is 3 degree rake trees at 12 inch over forks
