OK, the Dog left me stranded again. Two weeks ago I installed a new Power Source Battery and a Kansas Motorcycle Works RIP kit. I typically keep a trickle charge on the big when I keep it at the Garage (not my house) I have had it at home for 4 days and rode 100+ miles a day with no Trickle Charge or any startup problems. On the 4th day, I was having a great ride, went by one of my buddies house and had started up the Dog 4-5 times, so he could hear a sound that I think is coming from the Carburetor (crazy I know) that's another problem.... then I turned the key over and the Speedometer Dial stayed around 30 MPH... Now the Dog won't start. No Headlight at startup.. We put a Charger on The Dog and the Headlight would come on when I turned the key over.. the RIP kit was making a Buzzing sound, and would change sounds when I Engaged Start. (not turn the motor over) The Charger was showing the Battery wasn't taking a charge but my voltmeter shows 12.9 VDC.. Also bumping Post to Post with a Wrench showed no arc.. We took a Harley 310cca battery from my buddies bike and it would roll over the motor a couple times.... but not enough to start.. So I guess my question is, is the buzzing from the RIP kit normal with a dead battery??
Once that is taken care of, I'll move on to checking the Charge System, which I think is also bad...as well as the sound I think is back feeding through the Carburetor...
Thanks for any help offered...
