i know these look the same but is this the same as the rip kit , im just tired of all the connections and im going to just solder
them all
Hey bud, just got on and saw your PM and this thread so I'll respond here.
Yes Eric's post is correct the wiring is the same for the RIP and the thunderheart module 4260 and the pin read out's.
Nobodies done a full diagram for this kit yet, and I started too and stopped because.... the wiring colors can change from backbone to the stock harnesses like the hand controls for example. Not a lot but definitely a few colors that are not the same! Why aren't the same? My opinion is because the thunderheart is designed for Harley's and so the colors match for them, and why create extra cost for the end consumer (us low volume big dog guys) by making thunderheart manufacture new modules that just get connectors put on? Valid argument!
And before someone tells you the other guys kit wiring matches I will also tell you it doesn't either, why? Probably for the same reason I just said! I've installed both and saw same issues.
Now with all that said....I don't know why you would want to get rid of the connectors that just going to make things more challenging when you have to take things apart. But it's your bike so whatever you like! Rock and Roll
And yes, there isn't any issue that hasn't been covered in this forum before and why we do have plenty of info compared to dealers. These bikes are all 10+ years old! Nothing new anymore!
