rip kit gen 1 install

hey friends ted here, i have a wiring question on a gen 1 rip install. my 05 big dog mastiff 117 s/s
always had issues with the old wires plus kit. decided to do an upgrade. im almost finished with the install.
however i decided to swap out the red lead block and 40 amp fuse with a 40 amp breaker box.
my question is i have 3 sets of wires to my breaker box my voltage regulator, my double red wires from the rip harness with
o ring and my jumper lead to battery. which wires go on which post.
the gold post battery and the silver post aux. any help would be greatly appreciated

Without seeing the information on your breaker. I would believe the gold post/ battery would be the feed wire. Which in this case is the one from the VR. Which is feeding the battery.

I guess I’m not following you clearly. Your VR should hook to your breaker and battery directly. Your EHC shouldn’t be connected to the breaker itself it should be connected directly to the battery with a separate 20/30A fuse inline between the battery and the EHC. In my opinion.

I would stick with the red block and a 40 amp fuse. Circuit breakers will burn shit up....all bikes I rewire or even work on a throw those circuit breakers in the garbage

Stick with the fuse, like Knot said. The fuse is safer.

And the ehc and the battery jumper with inline 40 amp fuse going to battery by itself.

Yes! The VR to red block with 40a fuse to battery pos terminal.EHC & battery jumper with 20a fuse to battery pos terminal.

1) Connect the Voltage regulator to the red block.
2) Connect the 40 amp fuse from.the red block to the battery.
3) Then connect the power wire from the ehc to the battery with a fuse.

You can see in this photo the braided red at the top is the hot from the 40a fuse/VR. The middle line on the terminal is the hot to the starter. The lower right is the hot from the EHC and you can see the 20a inline fuse just below the connection. When it’s all said and done you should have a 40a on the VR and a 20a on the EHC connections to the battery. The bottom photo shows my VR connection and the 40a fuse available from bigdogpartskingpin.
