Very nice pictures for sure. Makes me miss the days out in Hawaii, one of these days I will have to go visit again before I am too old to remember why.

like i said you are the man.and anyone who has been on this road also knows you are the man.i also went to the top of the volcano 10,000 ft elevation.we did it in a rental jeep.i saw a few on bicycles making that climb.i could only imagine being in that kind of shape.
Never made it to the summit on the bicycle, but we did go up about half way, pretty much straight climb, but the return going back to Hilo was great since it was almost a steady down hill roll and once you got peddling, you could make some stupid speed coming back. Many times during the visit we would always get a few to take the trip up to Kilauea, bust our ass for a good many hours getting there than stop at the Volcano House, have a good lunch, some beer and then book it back down probably average over 50 to 60 due to the almost 30miles slope down back into Hilo. Of course that was the Big Island and not Maui.

Here is a picture from the 1979 Kilauea erruption that we where fortunate enough to be in port to see and go up and see close.

Me, the wife, along with my brother and his wife spent a week on Maui last year. Did the North road and Hana Road in Jeeps. I thought the North Road was wayyy more interesting with a couple of cars coming from the wrong direction!!! Serious thousand foot cliffs with no guardrails on a single lane road...what's not to like!!! Did get both my wife and my brother to puke on the Hana Road trip though; so that was cool too!!

the north loop on a streetglide was a little scary.nothing gets your blood pumping like riding on the side of a cliff with gravel and blind turns.the guy at the harley dealer said i took the roads that everyone else rents jeeps for.i will admit, next time i will rent a jeep.it was too dangerous even for a thrill seeker like me.
