I'm looking at buying an 07 Mastiff. My last bike was a ZX-6R. I have been riding various bikes for years but this will be my first Big Dog. What can I expect?

Thanks in advance!

It doesn't take the corners like a sport bike. Keep it slow until you get the hang of it. Expect a lot more people, checking out your ride when you come to a stoplight. Sport bikes are a dime a dozen. People always want to look at your chopper. I guess it is like when a small chested girl gets a boob job. You start getting noticed.

:oldhardlaugh:It'll take a little getting used to but they ride and handle remarkably well for such a big bike. Like Tom said, expect a lot more people checking out your ride, more chest hair, a deeper voice, broader shoulders, and wrinkles on your face from smiling every time you look at it!
Go for it, you wont regret it!!!

Here's what to expect. Everybody wants to look at your bike or take pictures with it. Whether you are stopping for gas or parked somewhere , it becomes a magnet for everybody. Lot's of questions (Did you build it, what kind is it, is it an OC Chopper or Jesse James) and more. Get it, ride it, and enjoy the attention.

WOW! Thanks for all the replies. Don't know if I'm all that excited about the attention but I guess I could get used to it. I was told the Mastiff would "take a corn field to turn around"...is this true? I ask because it could effect where I ride and where I try to stay away from.
Thanks again!

Here is a video of it. Maybe some of you veteran riders may spot something that I don't that may need attention? He is asking $9000 for a 2007 Mastiff. Seems like a good deal but sometimes good deals are not as good as they seem.

Also, what is a good theft deterrent? Helps on the insurance...

Looks good and clean. Here is what I saw:

1. I see there are some wires hanging from under the gas tank. I would ask about that and if you buy it, pull them up so they aren't resting on the top of the motor.
2. If I am not mistaken, it looks like the voltage regulator is not stock. Ask about that.
3. Def ask if the EHC has been replaced. If not then trust me it will need it eventually.
4. Not sure what it is because it never showed a shot from the front but it looked like once the bike was cranked, the headlight moved. Just looked funny to me. Def not stock headlight if that's what it is.
5. Look inside the gas tank and make sure it is clean.
6. Look underneath to see if there are any leaks / damage.

Other than that, just normal stuff like scrapes / dings, tires, etc.

That looks like a great bike for the price as long as there is nothing he is hiding. Price seems low, but you never know what your gonna find, I bought my 05 Chopper for $7200 last year. License plate bracket was scraped up and needed some new pegs, but havent had any issues yet, so the deals are out there when you find someone that really wants to sell. Good luck with it, the paint job is awesome!!!

If the EHC hasn't been replaced is that something I can do myself? I am not very mechanically inclined but I am willing to learn and a quick learner. Will I need to become mechanically inclined owning a BD?

Don´t get caught up about the EHC saga....... 95% of times it got the blame without justification! I am still running the orifinal EHC on my 06 K9. but the answer is yes, you can replace it yourself if it goes tits up.

And to the original question.. "What can I expect?".... A huge  in your face!!!!
