REPLACING THE LED ON TAG LIGHT

I've searched but could not find an answer to this. When you goto replace the LED lights on your licence plate, wheather you solder new ones on or replace the whole light unit do you pull the wires through the frame or can you disconnect at the light bar? I'm in need to rerplace some of them. BD wants $45.00 for a new one. I thought I would do what some others have done and just solder new led's on the board. Not sure though if there is an easy way to do this or pull the wires out of frame. Thanks in advance for any and all help provided.

Thanks for the info. I will try to solder new one's back on. Seems alot simpler than pulling the whole unit off the bike. Thanks!

I bought a replacement but it was under 20 bucks. think it was from lena.
Anyway, the wires can be unplugged under the seat. they are routed up the swingarm and fender. It's any easy job.

I bought a new one pulled the wire thru.

Remember if your tag is verticle you need to Silicone or block the little hole above the leds in the back of the plate or water can get in. I think mostly the bottom 2 lights go out do to this. Mine did anyway.

Basically what I did. The two left LEDs were not working, and it turned out that only 1 of the LEDs needed to be replaced.
