I'm getting ready to install the WirePlus for my 2007 Big Dog K9. In the pass I've always had to remove the handle bars to take the tank off the bike. Is there anyway to remove the Gas Tank without having to remove the handle bars???

Like I said, I have a chopper not a K9. I wouldn't think you would have to touch the bars. Good luck.

08 Ridgeback you dont have to remove the bars?
instead of removing the bottom bracket and lifting it up and over the top bracket you
can also remove the top bracket as well and just slide the tank backwards with lifting
up at all....thought the K9 and Ridgeback was the same???

SIICK!!!
The last time I took the tank off I had to take the bolts out of the handle bars and let them hang to get the tank off the bike.
no need to take off bars....once you have the bracket bolts and the 2 bolts under that removed....slide tank towards rear of the bike to take off...and when putting it on...slide towards the front of the bike making sure that your tank grommet is in the notch :2thumbs:

Lift slightly up and slide fwd to clear bracket. Then lift rear of tank, slide toward rear, then lift front of tank out. Done it many times w/o removing bars. 06 k9

Some painters tape on the ends of the tank goes a long way. Take the seat off when you remove the tank. I put a towel over the speedo when I push the tank back on. Comes close.
