Rear wheel misalignment

The manual says to remove the oil tank but I'm letting you know you actually don't have to. You don't even have to remove the rear fender. Everything you are about to do, I've done. The reason it says to remove oil tank is to get to pivot shaft, you can do the same thing by removing the exhaust, clutch push rod cover and starter. A hell lot easier than the oil tank and the lines.
Well I’ve already removed the fender, and the fender struts because I need to make all the measurements, yeah I couldn’t see why I needed to remove the oil tank that just didn’t make a lot of sense to me. The exhaust I planned on removing anyway, I will be removing the clutch rod cover and the drive pulley cover to help ensure the belt is located on the pulley correctly once I get the swing arm position properly. If I’m not mistaken it’s just two bolts for the starter I have not taken that off yet though. I am still waiting to get parts in hand before I start ripping into this bike any further. By that time I will have got my lift. Thanks again for the advice.

Yes it locked (pinned) and I did have on there for about 1 1/2 or 2 days as the jack belongs to a friend and I was doing this task in his garage and was unable to finish on the first day and had to go back later and finish up.
I just know how things go it could be up there for weeks, because some of the new parts such as the frame adjuster I need to get powder coated and of course I don’t want to worry about the bike coming off of the lift. Thanks!
