I have been having some rear brake heating issues. I noticed it the last few days when putting my disc lock on the rear brake. It's been getting damn hot!
So today we get it on the lift and spin the wheel and that rotor was way out of true. We pulled off the wheel and got it on the table and then ran into trouble trying to get the rotor bolts out. Seems over the years removing them over and over the head on one bolt stripped out finally. To much loctite I guess.
So we try tapping it out and the extractor breaks off inside!!
So out with the grinder then dremal to cut a grove in it so we could use the inpact driver.
Got it out finally.
That was when we noticed what was wrong with my rotor carrier. It was broke. So now doing some research trying to find a new one so I can get the bike back up and running. Looks like I found one from All American Wheels for now.
WSW is in the process of designing new rotor buttons and more importantly carriers that are designed to releive all the pressure off the buttons. So till we get them done I'll use this generic one.
I won't be riding for a few days!!!
My bike has over 91,000 miles now and its getting old.
