Re-Wiring a 2001 Mastiff

Are there any kits or information available for re-wiring a 2001 Mastiff and eliminating the Thunderheart EHC? Everything I've found here relates to 2004 and up. Mine just died on me (nice crispy spot on the back too) and I'm debating on a complete re-wire or replacing it with a 4200D which I assume is a direct replacement?
thanks,

The Wire-Plus WP-182 is a direct Harley Wiring Harness/Relay module that will work with your HD hand controls. That would be the most reliable, clean and simple solution available. May not be the cheapest, but I'd say best for the money. I have never been known to ever even consider the cheap route!!!

You get what you pay for!!!

Sporadic, I used the new micro harness from thunderheart which is built reallywell. The other options is the old fashion way with the fuses and relays. You have the old style HD controls so you can just about do anything you want.

4250D is direct replacement or like rain said the 4260 MHC is a good unit but it would require more work to install as would the wire + system. With your system the possibilities are abundant.

I may know someone that has a 4250D for sale, PM me if you want me to check on the price of it for you. He bought it for a bike I wired for him and didn't need it because we went with the 4260 instead.

I think I may have found the source of the problem. I've had sporadic electrical issues with this bike ever since I bought it (used). The previous owner had removed the turn signals. While troubleshooting the bike last year I found he was a little sloppy on his rear turn signal removal and dressed up some potential shorting issues. When I pulled the 4250 from the bike there was a nice little hole burned through the sealant on the bottom of the module. On the top side, I noticed the capacitor next to the oil/neutral/turn switch diagnostics LED was blown. The odd part though was what looked like moisture corrosion on some of the traces under the sealant, which leads me to believe whatever caused it blow happened a long time ago. After pulling the module I traced all the harness connectors and found no shorts on the bike. I'm hoping it just finally failed and this is the end of my electrical issues. I priced the 4250 module from my local dealer for $183, which I'm assuming is a decent price. I'm going to roll with that for now and hope for the best. Thanks for the inputs!

That is a really good price, would be hard to beat. If you have any issues when you get it put in jump back up here and let us know.
