Question changing struts?

I am swapping out my struts so I can use a sissy bar.

Are you able to release the pins at the plug connected to the rear lights so I can pull the wires through the hole in the old strut and route into the new one? I have been trying to release them with a small nail with no luck.

I really don't want to mess with it at the wiring harness. I am thinking if I can't get the pins loose, I will cut the wires and put a quick connect since I want to take these struts off later and send to the chromer.

I appreciate any help!

I use a dental pick to remove those pins.. but have heard a safety pin will work.. just take your time.. I wouldnt cut the wires..

Got'm! I was trying to realease them from the back side where the wires go in the plug, instead of from the bottom. Thanks again Eric!

Those little fers can be tricky. Just take your time and be gentle.
