I would just like to know how they ride since they are a rigid and the old lady doesnt want it because she said it will be uncomfortable? Can anyone give any feedback on this? Thanks!

I have an 08 pit bull. You will either love or hate the rigid frame. I love it but I am young. I will say after a long trip(8-10 hours)you might be a little stiff. My wife hates it though. I bought for me, not her so that wasn't my main concern. Anything over 2-3 hours and she can't do it. It might depend on what you plan to do with it. If you are looking to go across country, you might want to consider something different, but if you are just riding locally it is great. I would test drive one.

First, any bike you ride for 8 to 10 hours is going to wear you out. I rode my Ridgeback 10 hours and it rode just as good as any of the other soft tail bikes I have. Maybe its the 330 mm back tire that makes a difference. I think you have to move around a little on a long ride and take frequent stops around 100 miles. Unless you need to get somewhere quick. Then go fast and stop every 150 miles!

If you're buying for you, buy it. If you're buying it under a purchase order approval sort of deal (wife approval) , then better consider the softail approach. It's a long life bro better not stir up any shit if you get my drift.:2thumbs:

Always had bikes with shocks. I purchased a '04 Ridgeback from a guy who said he just couldn't take it anymore???? I have to say that the ride on the RB is just as good as any others I have owned and I LOVE IT! Drove 2100 miles back and fourth to Key west in September on a Street Glide with custom touring seat and will never do it again!!! I think the RB would have been just as comfortable. Maybe its the SPEED!!!

How often will your Gal be riding with you? If just for local putts, that's one thing, but if she plans on going everywhere, you might want to consider a sofftail. Another way to get around this is a King/Queen seat with some decent padding for your Gal. Good luck!

I think there is a spring seat option for the solo seat but the passenger still rides on the hardtail pilion seat. Not sure if there is a two-up seat available for those models.

Mr. Breeze I think put the spring solo seat on his 09 Pitbull.

A rigid rides like a rigid...

Welcome from Washington State, hope you enjoy the site. If you're buying for both to ride all the time, I would make her happy by getting a soft tail. Also, not sure how well your back is, but if you are or had back issues that would be another consideration, just saying...

Get it you'll love it. Me and the wife ride a 2008 Pitbull and she says the ride is better than the fatboy i had. Get you a stick on seat and have a gell pad put in. The wife will love it. Mine says its more stable(the stick on seat)after i had the gell cell installed. Anyway take her for a test ride. where you located at?

Phantom Pads sells a really nice Gel stick on seat. If you plan on doing a lot of 2 up, take a real hard look at your old lady. If she's the adventurous type who likes to wrap her legs around you when she rides, it should be fine. If she's scared of bugs and worries about breaking her nails all the time, you will have issues down the road. This could work in your favour if you're the type that likes alone time. If your the p-whipped type that drags your chick with you everywhere you go, get a softail. I've got a little bit of time on a ridgeback, and I'd say it ain't bad at all on the highway, but it gets a bit bumpy if the roads are bad, especially around town. Your best bet is to take a test ride with her on the back!

On smooth roads it's fine. On bumpy roads it's a nightmare.
Yep, but my baby rides her own so I get to buy what I want!:D Plus, if you are picking up chicks, they'll ride anything to get what they want!

BTW, a 330mm back tire is like have a softail IMHO until you hit some really bad roads and then it doesn't matter since you'll need a motocross bike to dampen the crappy road.
