Ray good points. See my post on xxx vs psi. I think it's a matter of a larger cfm carb that will give you the big numbers on the dyno but drivability around town that is undesirable. Just pure speculation but the only thing that makes sense to me. The wheel hasn't been reinvented as far as I am concerned.:D
Ha ha, just read it! We are on the same train. :D

I guess we all will see when some of us try his psi carb out to get the real facts. which is on the road testing.

all very interesting - for rideability, particular in town, the Super E is probably better than than the G but I bet most people on here with Triple X carbs have the G because "bigger is better" - not always the case of course but it is very tempting - I've gone for the G myself which I wouldn't be surprised if i regret - depends what your after I guess - everything in moderation I say

OK guys we went down this road on the other site. There I posted as Bill Shoemaker, my name of course, and I told everyone about purchasing this carb in Myrtle Beach from Tim the sales man and Bruce the Designer/Owner did the install and tuning. What a POS. Here is my previous post...

Whatever01 had one installed during bike week in Myrtle Beach. I was with him when they hooked him for the sale. Promised the HP increase of 10-15 and no more decel popping. Told him they would install and tune it for him at 6pm at their site.

When we went to their site they were in an RV behind the Nascar Cafe. They had no real tools, we had to make a run for lock tite for them and they used a file to cut down the vent tube on the rear of the air cleaner plate. The manager came out of Nascar and told them they had to leave. These guys just set up shop and were staying on the parking lot.

They said it would take an hour to install and tune but it took them 4....

Note: you have to cut your throttle cables to install this carb....

Once the install was completed, Bruce the owner and designer of PSI Carbs tuned the carb himself for about 30 minutes, All tuning is done externally while riding the bike....When he finished the bike was shooting 2 ft flames out the back and their sales guy was screaming yeah, now run your buddy and see what happens...

Well as friends do we went out of the p lot and I smoked him...

When we returned to the display the next day they were not there.. Eddie Trotta said he asked them to leave because they had no sales permit and they were using his name as a sponsor and he didnt approve...

We found them, returned the carb in a brown bag and then we went on a scavenger hunt for cables....

May work for you, may not... Hope you have better luck...They did blame his bike for the poor performance...I think he had 7 or 800 miles on it at the time...

No problem with bike with the factory G carb... Thats whats back on it now modified by Zippers to G3 with Thunderjet...Runs strong...

Damn, where does that put us in the return carb category? 1 returned in brown paper bag with no, I repeat no engine problems!

Note, Eddie Trotta tried one of these and did admit picking up power on the dyno but normal driving AKA seat of the pants feel suffered and he also could not tune out the sputtering and popping and flames....Call him or call me if you like. I wanted this carb to work bad just for the tuning and visual effect but not at that cost... Hope you do not have to cut your cables cause that sucked not being able to directly go back to the good old G...:bang:

OK. MY friend tried the PSI in Myrtle Beach this spring. We bought two dogs this spring and have been step for step trying to improve over the stock G carb. The PSI did not work at all for us. Bruce himself did the install and tuning. May work for someone else but see my post under - PSI is the shit!...BS maybe...Eddie Trotta had the same result. The new gen 4 may be better but for 1200.00 I wouldn't do it.

Most of you have gone the XXX route and that works well. Even our BD dealer uses them as mods. I live in MD where Eastern Performance and Zippers are not too far and I hang with a few of their guys so I went with the Zippers Super G2 modified with a Thunderjet. It adds another fuel jet that comes in above 4000. Our dealer recommends these as well.

With the stock G carb 2 jets carry the motor for the entire rpm range. Yes there is a accelerator pump and idle circuit but power is coming from the fuel feed from the jets and the other helps with drivability. The main jet over laps the intermediate jet for a period and then has to carry the motor. Too high a main jet and the midrange suffers. Too low and you have a lean condition on the top and will hurt the motor.

Now with the Thunderjet modification you can lower the main jet, leaner, and still feed the motor at higher revs due to the Thunderjet kicking in. Leaner is meaner but too lean is killer. More power and better adjustability. Just a little harder to tune but not really. Both the main and tjet can be done without removing the carb.

Hope this wasn't too much BS for you...

"He also gave me a place to call that is a BigDog dealer that has installed many of these carbs to get a second opinion Gateway BigDog I think its in Missouri, Talk to Josh or Tim at 1-314-291-6333."

Bro, this is the Scott guy that's been posting all the dyno run sheets. They've all got the name of his dads dealership right there on the bottom.

I'm still holding out for more info. We need more guinea pigs!

Ok I called PSI a few hours ago and talked to Tim which is the owner. His number is 1 801-393-1030. I asked him many questions about this carb. First, the price of the chrome carb is $1195. He will guarantee the carb to make 6-15 hp more then what you have on there now. If you are not happy return it and he will refund your money which will take about 1 month. I asked him if he had any come back yet. He told me that they sold 650 of these carbs and 3 came back, which 2 of them the customer figured out that there motor had problems and one of them bought the carb again. He told me the average HP gain he has been seeing was about 10-14 HP. Some were about 6-8 which he said was probably a bad tune, and he saw as high as 18(but is not typical). They had a bike with a 95cid engine that made 114 hp and after carb it jumped to 130. ( I'de like to see that dyno sheet). He also told me many stories about very happy customers that said that they couldn't believe how much HP it gained fom a simple carb change. He said that this carb is like a ferrari compared to an S&S thats like an old chevy. He said S&S is old technology which the PSI is the future. He also gave me a place to call that is a BigDog dealer that has installed many of these carbs to get a second opinion Gateway BigDog I think its in Missouri, Talk to Josh or Tim at 1-314-291-6333. He said to call him with any questions. I'm very interested. Hopefully Santa comes soon!

JUST TO LET YOU ALL KNOW THIS IS MY SHOP THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!!! WE SELL MORE THAN ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gotta have some weight transfer.:whoop: I bet you have a better chance than me. Maybe on a drag strip without all the greasy shit we have on our roads. My bike will spin before it ever thinks about lifting a tire. I think I'll save the wheelies for my 450 with four wheels.:D
