Very nice and that paint, the way the design looks so far, will be outstanding on it. You must be one proud owner.

Thank you - Follow up

Thank you all - the wrenching keeps me busy, out of trouble and I do enjoy it. The only down side, I'm sort of a perfectionist every bolt matters, so its time consuming. Then as all of us learn - everything about our bikes are “custom” so even MORE time. OK let me not start about the $$$$ . But besides the TIME & MONIES I’m LOVING IT::2thumbs: :2thumbs:

On to some updates….Have decided on the black hooker pipes – the reflectors and down tube stickers are off

The carb is off and ready to ship to Bob at XXX – He now is “planning” to offer the carb in a black powder coated finish (don’t quote me on this) and it’s a tossup and am pondering over the thought, get the carb in a chrome finish or black gloss powder coated finish? Huumm…Have included pic’s of my K9 with a CHROME XXX carb and RSD Nostalgia air filter (needed mods to get it to fit but runs GREAT). And the Mastiff with the stock carb and the RSD Venturi – Velocity Stack . Talk about every bolt matters …. Replaced the outer bracket bolts to brass i.e. to match the brass bolt pattern of the gas cap which is from “Crime scene choppers” have ordered some more brass bolts for where the stack meets the carb body…Not to forget the brass blends well with the extended brass bolts on the XXX carb….yep also added a “meshed” screen to the velocity stack and MODIFIED the standoffs with a brass barb to accommodate the head breather – did the same on the K9, worked out well.

Couldn’t have done it without the input from all you trusted advisors on the forum and especially Ron from Vision. This weekend its on to the open primary – oh ya, the Grips have been changed to those from XOPRODOX chrome with rubber – Have the pegs as well have just not got to installing them – yes those along with the BDM tribal levers. Also got the tribal mirrors from Wicked image – will get those on soon – two bolts how hard can that be – right? Waiting for the CHROME bolts to arrive –lol.

Fuckin SIIIICK Staffy!!!
Cutter has the same RSD air cleaner... its tight!
Actually, I was interested in the RSD... asked if they had adapters for the S&S and was told that they tried 2 designs without any luck...

Found the Gates Performance instead, really liked the venturi intake design hidden by the filter...

hear you cutter - I got a CV-to-S&S adapter from Kuryakyn. Did the job but protruded the filter by about a 1/2-to3/4" just didn't look right. So one night while I was puffing away at the cigar and staring at the bike it hit me....
Tapped the CV holes and plugged them with 5/16 set screws (and some RED loctite   ) Drilled NEW holes to match the S&S (using the adapter as a guide) next thing you know - IT'S ALL GOOD. Actually no...you do need EXTENDED STANDOFF 1.72" I ordered those from RSD they are actually for the Velocity Stack but works well - its also thick enough to accommodate the 3/8" barb for the head breather. If anyone needs it I will be more than happy to do a "How To" - no nothing close to what GAS and gang do but will make an attempt at it -lol.
Thanks

Does the RSD have filter media(like the Kury Hi-5) behind the screen on the face, or is it just for looks ?

Yup - it DOES have a filter behind the screen on the face - If I remember it is a K&N filter came with some maintenance notes. Basically it's a 2 piece filter - First you have the standard round filter and then the second piece sits in the center behind the meshed screen.

Something similar to this except its ROUND.

Crazy and awesome work on that sheet metal and the entire concept. You guys have me feeling unworthy to even hang out around here. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Some pic's with Vinyl stuck on the front fender to give us an idea....Its a kandy - brandy wine base with a marble like texture running from light to dark (black) near the frame/edges with a nice 3D like effect. The tribal/celtic design is in Silver with beveled edges.

New Carb

Got my new carb from Bob at Tripple "X" - looking G@@D and I'm sure it performs better (I can vouch for that - got a Chrome version from him in the past - kick ass) :2thumbs: :2thumbs:
Yup that's a RSD with a modified screen and brass bolts to match the gas cap design....more to come soon, real excited...(Need to change the head bolts - they look ugly!!!)
