Project peek....

Hello again….Yes yet another inspiring project that stemmed from this forum and its members – Thank you all.

A little project background – It all started from a post by Moe in which was this picture that screamed at me http://www.bigdogbiker.com/forums/dog-pound/7994-what-do-you-guys-think-tank.html I was simply fascinated by what I saw and in awe – to me it was a piece of art and what I call metal in motion. My curiosity got the better of me and I started prodding around only to find that one of our members Ron from Vision was the creator of this masterpiece. So Ron and I exchanged a couple of PM’s….and a few weeks later, here you have it.

A little about Ron – I’m calling it the way I see it – A true artist extremely talented with a great vision, immaculate integrity, passionate about his work and the biker community, immeasurable sense of humor (never a dull moment), just unreal – where do you find someone like him – THAILAND…you better believe it that’s where lives!!! It is amazing how globalization has allowed us to unify our interests. Needless to say working with Ron has been brilliant – it was like having him in my garage, time or space did not get in the way. I could go on and on….Thank you Ron.

Now this is a little premature but thought I would share. There is a lot to be done and have to engage the normal forum suspects for seat, open primary, pegs/grips, pipes, paint, etc. and yes – NO down tube sticker and reflector jokes, it’s a new bike (Mastiff '08) with 45miles on it have not had a chance to get to them –lol and enjoy

:2thumbs: Wow, COOL! Skins look like Armor. Man you could "RUN THE GAUNTLET" or "JOUST" on that beast!! (better get one of those jousting spears to go with it).

Great job and I can only imagine the dedication it took between the 2 of you to get this accomplished. Did you just send him all your old tins for reference? Or did you guys just exchange allot of measurements.

Thanks - Just sent him my old tins and a few emails. The whole process including shipping was 3 weeks. Fits like a glove (a little tweaking here and there). I believe Ron from Vision has this down to a science and can offer this up as a bolt on "KIT". Also, this is extremly well made and LIGHT - not just sheets of metal welded on - all Individual pieces of metal that come together. Just awesome work.

That was a TON of work (I'm certain about that) - What I said about Ron in the introductions is true, he is the artist passionate about his work and the biker community - that was revealed and dominant throughout the engagement processes. While we all need to make a living - I will say considering what went into making this dream reality was extremly reasonable.

Some paint ideas we are pondering...

I like painting # 2 but instead of blue...maybe go with a darker color like graphite or something... with the tribal designs on it like you have......to match your frame...

Looks incredible... you both desreverve alot of credit - :2thumbs:

all 3 idea's would look awesome...

I would vote for #1 as well - black base and gray/silver details, or even actual steel/aluminum spin riveted to the tank and fenders.

... or black paint roughed up to expose some bare metal with a clear coat.
