I never let my baby see the rain, and if she does I clean her right after. My starter went out and I brought it to Harley since there is no more BD. The starter took two weeks and they left my bike out during the day while it rained. When I got my bike back I noticed the top of the screws on the motor have some rust. Does any one know how to get that off!!! please and thank you. Ride safe.

Hey David,
With all the rain you've had in NO, I'm surprised it didn't float away. Have you tried "Mother's" chrome cleaner? It's a paste and does wonders for general cleaning and may work on the rust as well. When you say the top screws on the motor, are you refering to the rocker boxes or the cylinder head bolts?

The cylinder head bolts. I am going to try the mother's chrome cleaner. thank you for the responses. I am the least mechanical person I know. I always get results when I go on the forum. Thank you to all that have helped me in the past.

I thought you sold that dog. Damn good lookin scoot! Since the cylinder head bolts are not chrome, you may want to try what Moe mentioned with the steel wool and wd-40

Or try a little chrome/silver model paint from any hobby store and some qtips. Easiest way in taking care of the problem and hardly noticable to anyone.:2thumbs:
