While re-assembling my 107" motor I ran into a little issue that put the brakes on the project .... so I thought I would post my findings and results in the event any of you should run across this.
Here is my question to S&S cycle (tech support)

Hello Dean
I have a tech question regarding my S&S motor .... I am re-assembling my lower end and while putting the gears and keyways on my pinion shaft I noticed a lot of linear movement of the oil pump drive gear along the pinion shaft around .100"... It just doesn't seem right. Attached is a short video of the gear .... spacer ...gear ...am I missing something.

Here is the response from S&S ...
That is exactly how that should work! Generally there will be around .100" of play.
