open primary?????

i have a 06 ridgeback with a baker 6 speed tranny. Wanting to put an open primary on but not sure what will work. will a primo or ultima primary work with the baker tranny?? or can i replace the baker(which is broken right now) with a different tranny, and go with the primo or ultima?? thanks for any help
