Oil line flow configuration

By the time I fire up the engine again my bike will have sat for 6 months without oil, all Oil Lines removed and replaced. I've also removed the Oil Filter Housing. I'd like to do my best to get Oil flowing through the pump as soon as possible. I'm a little confused about the flow process starting from the Oil tank.

So, I always thought Oil would flow through the Filter first...but the diagram shows it flowing through the Filter last, before Returning to the oil tank. It also appears Oil flowing through the pump first, then through the Tappet Filter Screen to engine. Do I have this right? If so, I'm thinking I don't need to worry about the Filter and lines not having Oil in them. When I fill the oil tank the Feed Line will gravity fill, also purging any air bubbles in the line. ???

Am I correct about not having to worry about the pump being starved for oil...that the feed line will fill and self-purge when I fill the Oil tank?
