Oil leak

Went out for a ride tonight and noticed a small leak between the cylinder head and rocker Top. The bike is a 2009 wolf with only 1000 miles. Is it possible to have blown a gasket after only 1000 miles?

I noticed something like that on the front cylinder of my wolf but on the other side of the engine, the other day. It's like one small leak come down from the top cylinder head or from the push road, hard to say, the oil leak is all dry up like it did leak only one time.

Rocker box gasket..... easy to replace, common issue. Do a forum search and you'll find plenty of info on the fix.

thank you all. how difficult is it to remove the tension from the pushrods? i looked at ChaCha (step 1-7) pics but on my X wedge engine i don't see a place to use the screwdriver.

In the event I can't do it myself, will I be able to ride the bike to the shop? It's about 12 miles...

If you are only replacing the rocker cover to head gasket, there is no need to take the tension off of the pushrods. Do you have a picture of the leak?

Only if you can get the rocker top back on and the gasket holds -- the X-wedge oil pump is a monster and if there is any missing gasket space, you'll have oil spewing out all over [don't ask how I know this ]

Claudio,
Any chance you can back up just a step and take that pic again? Sure is hard to see what you're pointing at. If you're sure the oil is coming between the RB cover and base plate, then the top RB gasket should fix you up. I've had oil drip from the upper side of the pushrod covers due to a worn O-ring. The drip would fly back and streak on the belt cover and transmission. Good luck.
