I am. working on getting the cash in my paypal account now just going to pull my primary cover tomorrow and verify it is the basket which sound like 99 % that is the problem

Does anyone have a how to on the clutch removal and installation step by step? any idea how many hours this may take me? I have read the clutch installation for the bandit

Curtis,,how was the bandit installed wrong? just did mine and thought it was pretty straight forward, shim?

OtherThan The Synthetic Oil That Was Put In, The Owner Didn't Check For Clearance On The Cover Our The Back So There Were Some wear Marks. The Owner Tried Setting Up The Clutch But Could Never Get It Right So They Just Put Their Stock Clutch Back In And Told Me To Get What I Could For It.
Personally I Love My Bandit Setup. I Put Mine In With One Shim, Had To Trim Just ATiny Bit Of The Primary cover, Bled My Clutch And Haven't Looked Back. It Has Yet To Let New Down And That's At 300Lbs With A 124.

Here is a video of the clutch play. It appears that the top portion moves more than the bottom.

I think it may be the carrier as everyone has said. I am going to remove the clutch pack and get to the carrier.

What do y'all think

Not that it would be the cause of the problem but just wondering... is it the chain a bit too loose??? or it is just the way I see it?

no,unless your carrier is broke than you could wiggle it out but to reinstall you would have to remove front motor sprocket,,removing both at same time is a hell of alot easier as one will hold the other by way of the chain and makes removal easier,, your vid looks like the pressure plate is not releasing at the 9 oclock position, i would first pull out the throw out bearing and check hub nut,,if carrier was broke you would probably have a lot more play in the ring gears, unless jammed really good,,anyway, start with clutch hub nut under throwout bearing, remove 1inch snap ring for access remember clutch nut is opposite threaded, righty loosy--lefty tighty

Alright I pulled it all apart was able to get the hub nut off with ease. So I pulled all the clutch plates looking for a sign of a broken carrier. Decided that maybe it was just a loose hub nut and put everything back together and readjusted the clutch and it still did not work properly

Took it back apart except this time I cannot break the hub nut loose and this time I was able to pull all the clutch plates out by loosening the Allen head bolts.

Here is a picture of where I am. I cannot get the nut loose as the hub keeps spinning. Any recommendations? Any have an idea of what else it could be.

That nut is reverse threads. Righty loosey - Lefty tighty use an impact to get it off if possible... Jam a rag between the chain and pulley at the top

I understand the reverse threads. I just can't keep the hub from turning when trying to turn the hub nut to the right.

I figured I would have seen a noticeable crack or flaw in the carrier by now and I am not finding anything. Anyone have an idea what else it could be? Or could the carrier still be broken and I am not seeing it until it is out of the bike

pressure plate holes oblonged? snap ring not seated correctly? looks like something is stopping pressure plate from disengaging evenly, based on the vid

Your clutch looked as though it wasnt releasing around the nine oclock range that is a clear indication of an alignment issue. It would have been nice to see the clutch worked after rotating the primary slightly to see if the release issue followed the carrier or stayed in the same place.
The picture you posted is way out of focus so can't really tell from that. I've seen carriers come apart after they have been removed and the bearing is being pressed out.
Also if the carrier is only fractured, which is likely the case right now since the alignment issue is slight its likely you will only see those cracks from the back of the carrier.
I'm still not convinced the carrier isn't fractured.
I don't like doing it but you can put the bike in first gear and lock up the rear wheel to loosen the nut.

Curtis,

I know you told me yesterday, but I forgot. What size nut is on the front drive sproket? 33MM? Is that reverse threaded as well? I am going to pull it off and get the carrier off today finally

Its 1 5/16" or a 35mm may work

Don't even worry about removing the front sprocket until you have tried to remove the carrier first. Very seldom does the front sprocket have to be removed on a bike with 9000 miles on it. Im not saying you won't have to but I am saying there is no reason to if you don't have to.

I would also recommend that you take what appears to be excessive slack out of the primary chain before trying to loosen it. The get you a good red rag or if needed a metal round bar and stick between chain and gear. If the chain is adjusted right and with a proper sized metal rod, when you go to loose or tighten there should be know no the carrier moves while loosening, assuming it is not broken. Also with the reverse thread (clockwise to loosen or righty, counter-clockwise to tighten-Lefty) the rag or if needed should got at the approximate 11 o'clock position or where the chain is riding on the top side!

If it had good loctite on the threads (most likely), recommend you take a heat gun and heat the nut/bolt area carefully first, in a bind a high output hairdryer would help, do not recommend torch or open flame if it can be avoided.

Arlight guys, I had to remove the front sproket on the bike to get the carrier out. I got the carrier out and it is intact in what appears to be one solid piece. Now I do see some wear on the back side of the carrier where it looks like it was scraping the primary cover and a bolt. What could cause this? I wonder If I shoould just replace it all with the bandit and be done? I just hate to spend the money on it if it is something else.

Let me know if yall need any specific pictures.
