NO HEADLIGHT

Started as no low beam sometimes, now no low or high beam. I checked the headlight plug, the plug under the tank, the hi low switch connection, nothing made a difference. All connections were clean and connected didnt find a short. I got up today turned on the key and had low beam, no high beam. Turned the key on and off a few times and no light at all again. I checked the bulb and both beams work with voltage from a bat charger. I was wondering if it could be the EHC or what else should I be looking for?

Thanks

Sorry, but "Hit and Runs" are not appreciated here. :nono:

But to answer your question.

Read every thread under every topic.
Then....if you don't find your answer, ask, without doing a "hit and run"! And we'll see what we can do to help. OK? :2thumbs:

:hi:A "hit and run" is when someone uses the site to get information, but doesn't continue to participate in any of the forums. We aren't all mechanically minded, but are committed to helping each other out. There is give and take and a sense of comradery. I think that is what was meant by "hit and run" in this instance.:)

Hey Dead one,

I know what a hit and run is now.
I didnt really do that, I asked my question then went and posted an answer to the no light on thunder heart.
But thanks for the read the links advice because I'm now going to check the key switch.
Thanks again.

OK, BigB you are forgiven, "this time"!

But you left so quickly after you posed your question, then your intro, it looked as if you were pulling a "hit & run"!

Sorry, I'm sorry that I missed your return, but I am glad to see that you returned! :2thumbs:

Do you have the '04 Schematic for your bike?

If you don't, PM me and I'll send you a copy of it.

The schem. will make things much easier to diagnose, and help locate where to test for troubleshooting or repair.

There are many different places that can negatively affect the overall operation of your headlight in that manner. Sounds like you've already checked some of the most obvious. Now it's time to check for the "Not-so Obvious"!
I think that you'll find that your key switch is "not" the issue with your headlight.

Just let me know if you would like some help with locating your problem. I'm here most everyday. :2thumbs:

But that's not always the case.

It's cheaper to check for the small problems first, before buying another EHC or changing over to the WP.

I wasn't saying his is the EHC, just what happened to me. He should check other things just to make sure.
I have bought the Wire plus and I just need to install it. No mo EHC for me.

Well, after alot of help from TheDeadOne and alot of checking every connection, wire, plug, ect. We found it to be an internal short in the EHC.

In process of ordering WP kit now.

Thanks for all the input everyone!
