ok top end rebuild...fire on front cylinder comes and goes...here most of the time...have retightened everything electrical...grounds ...positive...have opened connectors and checked wiggled them....no help...now the thunderheart blinks the red yellow blue all the time....last time front cylinder wasnt firing i used the volt meter and checked the yellow wire on the coil and it had 12 volts going to it but no spark to plug. i even touched volt meter to it and nothing....doest make since but, shut bike off...switched the spark plug wires...which i have DONE before and made no difference...thought what the hell...started bike and both firing and ran 5 min or so and brought heat up in cylinders to 180 degrees for warm up cycle....im thinking coil is bad...wanting to go to the thunderheart 5012 anyway...but ive heard that most arent using that coil...whats my options...did clean crank sensor...it had a little residue on it but no change. should also state that the bike has PDM ...which brings up another question...can this new wiring system be jumped with car battery or use a regular battery charger to trickle charge???

If it runs fine sometimes then must be either a heat issue or loose wire. The hot to the coil is constant and the ignition sends a ground to cause spark. I'd check how that ignition is grounded.

Maybe that bd flow chart that I posted here years ago can help

hey sul....just started her up again...both cylinders firing got her up to 150 degrees and front cylinder quit firing coil is hooked with 1 bolt so i took my pliers and tapped on the coil body and she picked up again...went on with heat cycle and front went out again...tapped on coil and she picked up so i finished that heat cycle....COIL? connections on coil are clean and tight.

franco...this wound up being nothing more than a loose wire connection going to the front coil...the wire would make contact till the connection was moved from vibration...new end was installed on coil wire and no more problem.
