thanks gents - appreciate the comments

a pint of guiness is around the £2.50 mark - prices range from pub to pub as does the quality of the pint.

Steve - I've replied to your pm - just so that others who may be interested know - the XXX works great and if I remember rightly am running a 31 inter and 80 main - if you get the XXX remember to remove the little allen screw

What will that do for me Lee? (removing screw). Mine seems alittle rough around 1800-2200 rpm. Will removing screw help?

Lee ... Just curious about your gas milage before and after the XXX? Did you take the restrictor plates out too?. I got an 05' also and thinking about getting Triple X'd. Did you stay with the Super E or go with the G?

FYI ... lived in Banbury in 73 - 76 ... surfed as much as I could in Cornwall and Watergate Bay ... made some great friends in Cornwall at the surf shop there ... be nice to see if them guys are still there. :hi:

Barhopper - it might help especially if you have an aftermarket air cleaner

Surferdude - I already had a G with the plates removed when I bought the bike - if you still have them in you definitely want to remove them and if you are going to get a G carb you will I think need a new intake manifold - either that or you will have to get spacers where the plates are now - as for mileage I don't take too much notice of it but as a guide I took my gas tank off last night and emptied I would guess about 6 litres of fuel after having 85 miles on the clock - I do now have the IST ignition though - as for choice between the E and the G, the E may give you better rideability at lower rpms due to the smaller venturi (although mine is fine with the G) whereas the G will give you more max power because of the larger venturi

hope this helps

Lee, I don't know how I missed seeing your post when you put it out. You have a fu*%in nice motorcycle there. Is that an Underworld retro fuel filter?

Take care over there:cheers:

thanks Ron and yes it is - appreciate the comments

Ray - my BigDog is the only one I have ever seen in real life! makes me kind of unique where I am from which is pretty good - when i went to see Andy (who does some of the work on the bike for me) the other week he had heard through the grapevine about some of the new parts (air cleaner and such) that was now on the bike, even though I do not the people he heard it from. The Dog's getting famous!!
