I couldn't have said it any better:up::lol:Are you suggesting that it shouldn't be something that we'd like to have work properly? Are we somehow flimsy or flaccid if we expect the thing to operate as designed? If the bike didn't come with a neutral light, then I would use it without a neutral light. I will use THIS bike without one as long as it takes to repair the light, but since there is a little unlit indicator on my speedo where a neutral light is designed to appear, I will rectify the connection as well as seek advice as to how to do such. The fact that the little green light does not come on does not destroy my faith in humanity, but since the thing is there it might as well work. I feel no "harder" when my light doesn't light up, And I certainly feel no "softer" having the benefit of an encouraging green luminescence when finessing the shifter into place.
I was replying to another poster, the only suggestion I would have is that you probably could have fixed the light in the time it took you to write this post. Are you suggesting that it shouldn't be something that we'd like to have work properly? Raywood still here helping us. I could not figure out how sitting on a lift in my garage my neutral light could just quit working. Figured run it through the old posts. Ray answered my question. Dang wire came off.Wiggle the connector on top of your tranny. It's a black square thing and can fill up with dirt, water and other crap. I recommend you clean it real good then fill it with RTV to prevent stuff from getting into it.
