I did not poll.... It's up to you and what kind of sound and / or performance your looking for. Have you heard the slip ons? In my opinion they sound much better than the V&H Big Radius. Nice deep sound...I wish I had heard them before I bought the 2-2 BR...
However, you have to weigh in the price! :zz2cents:

I had V&H Big Radius 2:2 pipes on my '05 Chopper, and went with the 'slip-ons' for my '09 K9.
I like both equally:2thumbs: Each has a unique sound of its own and both will set off car alarms when you blast by! :whoop:

Ok gotcha

not a big fan, and I'll tell ya why

It's purely a looks thing, I'm not a fan of "shot gun" style pipes like our stock ones, but thats just my opinion to each his own

I'd say neither---I just took off my Big Radius, with Big City Thunder baffles, and replaced with MGS Tornados-now I got a decent set of big radius up for sale....like the new sound much better, and now I don't look like every other swinging dick....:flag:

I ended up with a pair of BR on mine too, Mostly because I am an ignorant fuck new to the BigDog world. The dealership offered a set of pipes in the deal and I jumped on them because they were shiny....... kinda wish I would have waited now that I see the variety of options for us. Hell even my "swinging dick" friend with a Honda Shadow has a set of V&H BR on it.

Have you looked at the V&H Big Radius 2-1 pipes? I actually like 'em, but that's just cuz I don't remember seeing anybody in my area running 'em. I think they may make a little more power too?

Here's an e-mail I got from V&H awhile ago which addresses this subject.
(however, I opted for the 'slip-ons' due to the higher cost of V&H 2:1)

Thanks for the questions on our Big Dog exhausts.

1. We are not scheduled to do any 'black' exhausts for the Big Dog family of products.

2. Regarding performance - Big Radius 2-1 vs Big Radius 2-2:
The big radius 2-1 greatly out performs the 2-2 version. On a stock 96, the
2-1 will give you 3-5 hp/tq on the top end over the 2-2. The 117 should be a
little stronger, to say the least. But you will really notice the difference
with the 2-1 on the bottom end and mid range where you will see significant
power gains as well. And the 2-1 will have a deeper, mellower sound, which
you will really appreciate with the 117.

Thanks for supporting Vance & Hines.

When I bought my bike new in 06 I had 2 choices "mean mothers shot gun" or the "Big Radius" I was going on looks at the time and the Big's fit the bill, now there are so many diff pipes out there that perform better than the B-R 2-2 but at that time anything was better that those BIG ASS mufflers that came on stock, the 2-1 V-H look good and perform
