I'll take a stab at this, I had this happen last summer. I had a couple thousands miles on an oil change, with no oil blow by. suddenly on a road trip, it started puking oil out the air cleaner. I thought it was the push rod tubes, and decided to change my lifters while I was in there. When I pulled the valve covers off, I noticed that the gasket has little flappers that cover the ports where the vents come out of the heads, and they were bad. I put new valve cover gaskets on, and the blow by quit.
Hope this helps

Are you talking about in were the screen is, or is it on the pump itself? I couldn't find any reference to it in the manual.
