Need Help, No Oil Pressure

RETIRED
I did see trash/metal in the filter when I removed it just now. Never seen it before. I have a K&P and when I pulled the element out of it trash/metal was in the cup (not inside the filter element). I will post a picture of the inside of the filter cup later today so everyone can see. I think I may have a bigger problem.:oldbang:
In the second video where ever you started is where the knocking is coming from
Hopefully a better ear will come along and give you some guidelines to check by. Personally I wouldn't run anymore until you fix the problem. The metal shavings in the filter might give some clue.good luck

10-4. Im going to visit with a friend that used to drag race bikes back in the day and now he is a motorcycle mechanic on the side. He should be able to give me advice watching the vids. I am taking my filter with me too so maybe he can tell me where the shit is coming from.

Dustin If there are metal shaving use a small magnet if magnet doesnt pick shavings up then its aluminum or brass or dirt.
Here are pics of the stuff in my filter. What is on my finger is the 2 largest I saw. The black specs are magnetic. I ran a magnet over the bottom of the filter and they moved. Not sure what the silver ones are but there aren't very many of those.

So a little update....
I cleaned my good 'ol oil pan and drained the oil from the crank case. Clean as a whistle. NO METAL! I even ran a magnet through the bottom of the oil...nothing.

I checked the magnet on the bottom of the plug thinking I would find something but nothing out of the ordinary. Just the typical black sludge. No gritty metal fragments of any kind.

I then thought surely there must be something in my cam area making all the trouble so I pulled my cover and guess what......
yep you got it, NOTHING. Oil was clean as a whistle with NO metal anywhere. I pulled my cam and inspected everything. No gears worn or bearings going out. I did notice however the jackass before me didnt line the cam up correctly so I went ahead and did that when I put it back together.

Not sure what else to look for on this one. You would think if metal is getting into the system, it would have shown up in here or in the crank case. At least on the magnetic plug. I am going to drop my oil tank and clean it out really good. I will keep everyone posted.

Sorry you put I back together, did you pull your breather gear and look at AT THAT screen before putting the CAM back rogether? How does your tappet screen look?

Even if you had metal, oil pressure should be ok.....you have pressure, your bike just isn't running right....

You've done done some thorough troubleshooting. As people said, it's hard to hear the noise in the video....So can you describe it? Ticking? Gets faster with RPMs? Etc.

Your oil pressure looks like mine does all the time.

Your oil sending unit and gauge are on the same 'T', when watching your videos, I couldn't really tell, does the light go out when you rev it? It should because your gauge is registering pressure.

Any type of smoke coming from exhaust or air filter on a cold startup? Even for a few seconds?

Do your plugs smell like gas? Air cleaner smell like gas or oil?

It's possible you could have a sticky lifter or a clogged pushrod or a loose pushrod which would affect oil pressure a tiny bit, but I still see oil pressure on your gauge.

If fuel is getting in your oil, pressure will drop because the oil viscosity is diluted. I hear a little exhaust leak and a misfire, both are seperate from this issue.

On cold startup does bike run great? Oil pressure?

I RUN THE K&P AS WELL....I put that in all caps because at this point, go to Walmart, get the cheap 171 I think it's a FRAM PH6065B oil filter for your bike, put it on and run it with that oil filter and see what happens.

I already spoke with Marc on this over the phone but I wanted to share what was discovered.
Answering the questions above
  1. Oil gauge and sending unit is not on the same "T". They are attached to separate places on the engine.
  2. No smoke from pipes or filter on startup at all.
  3. No and No smell of gas
What I did per Marc's advice was to remove the pushrods. I had stock adjustable S&S pushrods so I removed the Tappet Blocks, CAM, Lifters, and Pushrods.

Disassembled all my lifters and cleaned them really good and inspected = All Good
Cleaned my Tappet Block and checked for excessive wear = All Good
Rear Exhaust Pushrod bent = Not Good!

I took all the pushrods and rolled them on the workbench and noticed the rear exhaust one wobbled when rolling it. Ordered new Quickie Pushrods from my local S&S dealer and should have them Monday.

Many thanks @Marky-Marc
Hopefully this will fix it!

I changed to a Drag Specialties filter and tried that. No change. Still lost oil pressure after a warm engine.

I shouldn't have any exhaust leaking. I just changed the seals and torqued it to specs per the manual. I also re-checked after the engine was warm. What else would cause a misfire?
