Need Help!! K-9 Oil Filter Lines - Problem Solved!

I can't believe this. I have 10 k miles on my 2007 K-9 and it runs as strong as ever. I recently purchased a rogue choppers oil scavenger system. I purchased the correct unit (verified by calling rogue choppers). I installed the unit correctly per instructions and video. When I started my bike oil vapor started shooting out of the middle hole of the Scavenger all over my front wheel - a real mess. The bike shut right down after cranking over a few times.

I called rogue choppers and they say my oil lines must be reversed?? This bike has never been taken apart. The bike never seem to run hot and I always checked the oil temp with an infrared gun. How could this be possible? Rogue choppers said there should be no pressure coming out of the middle hole of the scavenger.

The guy on the phone was very professional and suggested I reverse the oil lines going to the filter housing.

I just want to check with some of you guys to see if my configuration matches yours. The attached picture shows the oil lines coming out of the oil filter housing. The oil line on the inside (farthest away in the picture) next to the engine case is routed to the bottom of the oil pump. Can someone look at their K9 and tell me if their inside line goes to the bottom of the oil pump also.

If my oil lines are mis routed is amazes me how I was able to put 10k miles on this strong running motor with no overheating or other issues.

Any help here is greatly appreciated!

PS - the picture is horizontal - it should be verticle.

Maybe read it wrong what you saying , but I have the scavenger also and when I change my oil I put the unit where my oilfiter is the midle hole have a hose so if I start the engine the dirty oil comes out the hole till I see the new oil coming out ,stop the engine pu6t the new oilfiter on and add more oil but maybe yours is diverend .

Thanks for your response Guillaume. According to Rogue Choppers, this is the unit for the S&S engine. It shows in the video that the oil comes out the side hole and not the middle. Now Im really confused. My bike will not even start now even though I put the oil filter back on. Im going to try to prime the oil pump and see if thats what the issue is.

Can you not put only the hose in the midle hole with the tread on ,it,s strange because out mine comes out the midle and I can crank my bike .
Sorry glen I hope you have the right scavanger .

I have the RC 101 and the fittings will not fit the middle hole they are too small. I called Rogue and they said I have the right scavenger. This just does not make sense. I will keep researching. Thanks for your response Guillaume!

Problem solved due to stupidity!!! I did not have the crank sensor screwed down so when I started the bike it blew out and through oil eveywhere. When I looked at the scavenger I saw oil dripping out of the middle hole but did not notice the crank sensor was out - so the oil blew out the sensor hole!! CRAP! I cleaned everything up cleaned the sensor and screwed it down tight - hooked up the scavenger and it worked correctly pumping out some nasty looking black oil. The oil came from the bottom hole of the scavenger like its suppose to so everything is good. Gee and Im no stranger to building some nice engines...it just shows you can screw up the easy stuff if you dont pay attention lol! Thanks for your help Guillaume. If your ever down bama way look me up!
