I have my 06 pitbull sold. Went out to get it out of garage & pretty sure EHC failed. Does anyone have one that is still good that they tookoff to upgrade to wireplus, etc.

The EHC always gets the blame. Have you checked your connections to make sure they are properly connected, the grounds are properly grounded and the infamous battery. How old is your battery and when was the last time you started the bike. Take you battery off and replace if it's more then two years old. What happened when you tuned the key on did the lights come on, did it click when you hit the starter. If nothing happened when you turned the key on check the ignition switch or replace the battery with a good battery with at least 330 CCA.

I replaced the battery last fall with a interstate. It was on tender since november. I turned key on & the horn stuck on, front flashers continued to flash & rear brake lights stay on. I have no power anywhere else,no headlamp, speedo, tach, & none of the switches do anything.

Battery. Carlos is right on. Interstates aren't all that good anyhow and they are also finding that some so called tenders are overcharging the batteries and cooking the fluid out of them. Good luck.Hope you get it going.

God, I hope you guys are right! I,ll swap battery out this weekend & let you know how it turns out. Battery showed 12.7 volts with volt meter.

Well swapped battery out of one of my harleys & same thing. Put interstate back in & load tested with load tester. Checked voltage drop with key on. Only two tenths of a volt drop. Could never get power anywhere but front flashers, rear brake lights & horn. They came on when I turned key on. All led,s were normal. Only ones on were green (flashing as normal ) & yellow (solid as normal). On a whim I took my heat gun & warmed Ehc up for about 20 seconds. Turned key on & everything worked normal. Only about 32 degrees where bike sits in garage. Has anyone ever encountered this. I still suspect ehc.

Yep that can happen. The EHC doesn't always like the cold.

Yepper, the EHC has a bad module in it, according to Curtis if it gets colder than 55 degrees the light will come on that it has power, but will not come alive until it reaches 60 degrees. Sorry to say you need to replace your EHC, Do a search, you will find plenty of discussions, options, ESC from DOC's, RIP II, and a new one on the market Axel's true 10 minute plug n play EHC replacement, I personally installed the ESC fron Dead One Customs with the optional voltage monitoring built into it, none of the others offer that option. Good luck:old2:

The more I read these post about ehc issues the more I am starting to think that Bad dog Bill could be right.

#1. Do not buy Interstate batteries. POS! The lead plates ate the thinnest on the market, from the big 8D that go in heavy machinery down to the motorcycle battery. They are very delicate and usually a good jolt will kill a cell. We stopped using them years ago for this!

And that's the truth. The only batteries I could ever get to last were Caterpillar batteries. Just God awfull expensive.

OK.... I´ll say it once again.... I AM ON MY ORIGINAL EHC, dated 2005, ...... Clean & Tight and dielectric grease!

Stop blaming the EHC! 95% of the problems I´ve read here blaming the EHC were wrong!!!

:chopper:
Franco, you are one of the lucky few, my 05 damn near burned up because of the ehc (eieio) .

perk, I have one I got to have as a spare from curtis that he certified, I'll let you have it for what he charged me if that is your problem.

6K miles in four months... rain, snow, and all sorts of altitudes, from Sea Level up to the Mountains and back home... three times.... not a hitch... the only problem I faced was (under heavy rain) water coming into the air cleaner... cough cough shit shit... but She did carry on... Good Yellow Bitch, Good Yellow Bitch... she did not let me down, she did go to the "true bitter end" and more.

I am Proud of my Big Dog!!! :old2: :patriot::cheers:

BTW: two HD had to be towed away............ those HD did not make it!
