There is a couple threads floating around on here with the info that you need. Bigdogbro1 and Groundpounder both have contributed on this subject.

V.E. Peterson sells the filter in the tank if you have the walbro fuel pump which they also sell. Part number is 125-192. The filters in the tank are not small enough to catch the fine particles in gas etc. that plug up the fuel injectors on our bikes. I suggest you run a 30 micron in line fuel filter as per S@S. The phone number for V.E. Peterson is 1-800-537-6212.

Thanks Tom...that's good to know, I just talked to Jeff Lincoln at VE Petersen today, do you know if the filter is the same size as the OEM? Is it available...?

What do you mean same size. It measures the same size as the one I took out of my efi K-9. As far as the micron rating. No one could answer what size micron filters we have. But they are the ones that walbro sells to help protect the Walbro fuel pump. V.E Peterson told me they can get most of the filters etc. that walbro sells. I'm pretty sure they could hook you up with the right one for your bike if the one for the k-9 isn't it. When I bought the filter for my bike they ordered it from walbro I believe. They are good people to deal with. They can even get the fuel regulators for our bikes. Let me know how you make out and if you need more help. Good Luck !!!

Did you put a 30 micron in line on your K-9? If so, what did you use and where exactly did you mount it? I worry about getting the proper flow to the injectors.

Just a thought. It looks like this fuel pump is also used by Victory. Their exploded view shows a filter that looks just like ours. I think I'll buy Victory's filter.

I put my in line filter in the gas line between the tank and the fuel injector rail. The sock filter in the tank is still there in front of the fuel pump. Mine is the kind you can screw apart and clean the filter insert or replace it with a spare one. Had it on since I had problems with dirty fuel cloging the injectors and no more problems, knock on wood!!! If your thinking about putting one in you need to see how much room you have in the area I mentioned and let me know and I will tell you if the one I have will fit.

Tom,

Room is my problem, there is no room between where the line exits the tank and enters the fuel rail; of course unless I put several elbows routing the line and filter in a big circle......which by the way would look like shit. Still working on a solution.....

I didn't either, this is where I get contradicting info, I asked and the Victory and Harley dealerships and all say it is not necessary, the in tank filter is sufficient, they stated their EFI bikes do not have an in line filter. However, many on this forum say it is necessary and have in fact put in-line filters in their fuel system, guess it can't hurt assuming it can withstand the 60 psi pressure.

I'm thinking a lot of the inline filter users are on the carbed bikes. just a thought we have three efi harleys and all have a in tank filter. interesting discussion.

I have had a big problem with clogged injectors too. The filter on the suction side of the pump is not fine enough.

My issue in part is the tank liner is starting to delaminate. I may just add a inline as Tom did until I figure out what I wana do with the liner.

In general it may be a good idea to have a filter fine enough o protect the injectors. Its a real pain to remove and clean them. I even replaced one ($100) before I realized what the real issue was.

Okay, just for learning purposes... The fuel injectors are $100 each? Are they an off the shelf item (common with Harley or...) or are they Big Dog specific and difficult to find?

They're an S&S item, many S&S dealers on here to include McGroom, you usually gives forum members a break on the price.
