In Lincoln, IL and plans have changed a little, decided to ride to Eric's. This is an expensive service call as he has a problem with an air conditioning system. The things we do for our kids.

Chong I am just doing back roads, they are more fun and less stressful. I get to look around at this great country, there is a lot to see traveling the back roads of America. Do not know who said it first, but it is true. Had the opportunity to meet 2-Dog owners and neither were on the forum. Told them to get on.
That's cool . Don't surprise me .

Sure your way west of me now anyhow.

For reference, Exit 107 is Hwy 13 in Indiana, which turns into 131 in Michigan.
Secondary Highways 120 and 20 Run parallel to toll road south side in Indiana.
US 12 in Michigan. but east of here it swings north towards Detroit . All 3 are fairly rural for the most part .

Glad / Hope your enjoying your trip !

William Least Heat- Moon’s book Blue Highways is your reference here. It has been discussed by some members before on this Forum—available on Amazon. A great read for those who prefer back roads.

Arrived at Eric's late Monday afternoon. Obviously Eric was not home, so I went over to HDM for a visit. It was great to see Donna & Derek again as it has been a couple of years. Last night I was invited over for burgers and dogs and a person name scott eas there as he is the dude that travels all around on his Harley, this guy has been on the road for over 25 years traveling. This guy even has his on You Tube Channel and some others, this guy seems to manage to get by quite well for himself and really enjoying life, he mentioned that he has at least 750,000 miles in traveling. We will be taking off this morning once it warms up a bit (I believe the boy has gotten soft after living in Dallas and now in Kansas). Eric mentioned that we will be stopping at Blacktoppers place for a visit on the way. See you all soon.

Well a little late with this, I did get to Cherokee, NC yesterday late afternoon. The new casino is there now, I don't gamble but the area, looks good.
Started out this morning after the heavy fog lifted and headed up the hill. Man this is an awesome ride, has a lot of curves and enough places to look around. The leaves are starting to turn some. I can see how this is an easy 2-day ride, but if you want, this could easily turn into a 4-day ride if you visit the small towns in the hill.

Good evening, in Virginia now,. Went over these incredible bridges on the Parkway. I have to abort the Parkway, as it is making me get in enough mileage. It has taken me 2-days to go 275 miles. I got to be feet to home as I still have almost 900 miles to home. The Parkway is very attractive, but I view way to much. I would do this again with more time, a great run.
