My FIRST RIDE

7 months ago,I got my Big Dog,got it home and it literally fell apart on me.....So over the entire winter I rebuilt the whole damn bike...many thanks to Brother Raywood!!! took it for a few short test rides last week,and today went for my first real ride...Went for a nice little 50 mile ride,and headed back to my shop...stopped at a gas station 2 miles from my house to get something 2 drink,came back out and 2 old Harley guys were there,they just pulled in and were checkin out my bike, I came out and said " Hi guys, nice day for a ride huh".....they didnt say anything,just stared at me...So I said it again.....then the shit started...

The older of the 2 guys says to me..." What kinda bike is this"..I proudly said :flag:"Big Dog Ridgeback Chopper" made in the USA Buddy"..... He says " Hahaha Big Dog,fuckin wanna be harley,pile of shit,thats why they went outta business":angry:...... I Instantly told the guy "GO FUCK YOURSELF":angry: "Your just pissed cause Harley never made a Production bike that looks like this":angry:..and reached under my seat,at which point his buddy says..." Bob shut the hell up,lets leave"??????
WTF GUYS........has anyone else ever been bitched at by Harley guys?? ALL my friends that ride HD all love my Big Dog...... I dont get it??? Did I do something wrong?? I would NEVER walk up 2 someone and dis-respect them like that?? MY MIND is still blown....

Well maybe they were two old guys riding Harleys verse two old Harley guys. Most of the old Harley guys I know would never do that, but many of the new old guys riding Harley would be more likely to do so.

When I say that I am talking about the old guys that have not rode since being a kid if at all, that get some money (or decent credit), goes straight to the HD shop, buys something without much though and based on what they think is cool, then buy nearly an equal amount of HD label clothing and accessories from China, and then throw the HOG patch on the back and all of a sudden they are old skol bikers.

Good thing is there is not many that are that bold and the two fucking clowns you ran into are not a representative of the vast majority of HD owner being old or new.

Ignor them, do not let them get your goat, say have a fucking good day riding to the nearest HD shop and hanging with all the poser and comparing newest overpriced bling bling, and just head on down the road and enjoy YOUR ride. Just remember even with the BD or what ever you ride, never put down another for what they ride, for I much rather ride with an person on a beat up POS Honda that puts many miles on the road, rides all the time and not trying to impress anyone but enjoy what two wheeling is all about, than some fucker with some CVO or custom job that only spends their times polishing the chrome and showing it off at the nearest HD or dealer look at me event where they can compare leather grip tassel or new cheap ass standard flash tattoo and get their 50 miles in for the month!

Wonder if those same poser would say too some Pagen, 81, Bandito on there 883, hey why did you buy a girl bike? Fuck them, enjoy your ride and respect all other be it a Big Dog, HD, Honda, Vespa or a fully loaded BMW RS1200 making 5k road trips.

Yeah, I get it all the time.... I have buddies that ride with me a lot that have a variety of bikes... yamaha's, crotch rockets... just a bunch of different bikes and friends...we ride all over together.. but, when we run into HD riders they give us a ration of shit...almost got into a couple of fights. My buds won't ride now unless I say where we are going first...they don't want the hassle. I have ridden alone and pulled into a couple of different bars for a drink and HD riders will give me a bunch of shit... I tell them my bike was built in America... Your HD has parts from all over the world in it, so what's your beef?? I just don't get the mentality of HD riders...If you're on two wheels, I'm happy to ride with ya....

I think they are the exception to the rule . I think most Harley riders think as most of us. It's not what you ride it's that you ride. It's a shame they gave you crap , but you can't fix STUPID. Ride on brother.

Obviously they liked something about your bike to make them stop to admire it. Don't sweat it bro. Okay big dog went out of business....big fucking deal!! Do they want to take a trip down memory lane? Harley ass has been saved plenty!! Let's not even speak of amf shit!! The fact is people sometimes get soo involved with all the heritage bullshit and quickly forget about all the rough spots Harley had over there 110 years. The Harley riders really kept Harley going not per se the company. Like any product, things get improved on over time and design flaws get worked out. Harley has experienced it all from. The economy collapse has affected alot of companies, so when people talk this Harley never die shit....Fuck that !!!Harley was saved alot and suffered many flaws and problems in between. Personally I like all sorts of bikes and styles and makers, and understand their uses. Buy what u want, ride what u want.

I have never had any of them say anything to me but I would get the dirty looks and the glares all the time. Especially when I roll up and all the non riders walk away from their bikes and crowd around mine.

The salesman at Gateway Bigdog where I bought my bike said it best. He told me that "all the Harley guys are going to go limp when they see your bike compared to what they have." Which explains all the dirty looks and glares that I would get from them.

Yeah....couple of Rogue Homo"s:loony:........The town I live in is like Mayberry from andy griffith...Small mountain town,we ALL know eachother, and I didnt recognize those guys at all...I think they were from another small town like 30 miles away.....
I called my buddy Pete,Old school HD brother,been ridin for like 30 years,he went with me to get my Big Dog last summer...he knows who one guy is,and him and a few other of his friends said they will take care of it......Pete says...."Fuck them Fags Danny,get on that bad ass Bike and ride Bro"!!!! And I plan on doing just that.......:up:
