After reading this Thread I went downstairs and got rid of the Glass Fuel Filter on my K9, I did put instead a Chromed Pingell (I was getting paranoid already about the glass....) It looked good though

That's fucking crazy. Sounds like there wasn't any due diligence on your part. At least you weren't smoking while filling it up.
