OK i don't know what the hell this is and why this came off.. any ideas
hmm ok i don't know how the hell to put the picture here so on a 2005 Big Dog Ridgeback on the right side where the be trany is there is a cover that comes out where the belt is there is a cover for the belt and then there is a circle looking thing that covers up the center piece - right next to the exhaust pipe. i'm not sure if that screws on or bolts on or what.. i just saw it so i'm waiting for the bike to cool off so i can take the pipes off and see what is up. I have also noticed that where that circle looking cover came off when i press the clutch in and out there is movement... i know it seems like i don't know jack about bikes and how to describe the problem well but i'm doin my best..
thanks

If it has like 4 scallops in the metal plug it unscrews and has a o-ring this covers the nut and allen bolt/rod for clutch adjustment. Its on the left hand side on the cover for the final drive belt pully.

k i hammered that shit on and its good... i guess.. thanks for help every one
ummm...if that was your clutch adjustment cover you just fucked it for good for sure. I guess without patience, the ability to work a camera and a web posting tool a big fuggin hammer will do the trick. :bang:

After the week I've had...there is no way to make something up as funny as this thread! Suddenly-I'm feeling better about myself.

Was this particular part next to the muffler bearing. If so, this part is indeed part of of the tranny. What you need to do is stop over at any local auto parts store and ask the guy for a can of transmission putty. Get the purple putty, it's stronger than the orange type. plus it looks better. Go home take the same hammer and beat the part back off and apply and heavy coat of the purple putty behind the cap and take the same hammer and beat it back on. This putty will stop the air from mixing with the oil and causing the transmission to shift on it's own. Good luck.

How can I adjust idle RPM on the bike.. as is it is running just over 1k RPM should't it be lower?

Ok Polak, put the hammer way :D and get a screw driver (not the kind you drink) :D look for the screw furthest on the left side of the Carburator (near the throttle cables) this is the Idle Speed Screw, turn it left (counter clock wise very slowly until you reach the desired RPM. (make sure the motor is running). Hope that helps:cheers:
