Sounds good! I hope that check that he cut you is enough to get your skoot back up and running. Did the shop give you a quote on the damage?
From the min i started dealing with these people at AAA/AFG, they have told me the bike IS coverd/handled. i, like anyone else wonders just what that means, you know we all have our standards.
Im going into the shop today for the first time , so i will get don's and gino's consensis on what they read into that statment from the estimator.
Those boy's are riders like us and will settle for nothing less than perfect judging from all the work they have done in the past for me.

I will say this about AAA/AFG, so far the people and service of this claim has been outstanding.
AAA makes some pretty good dough off me every year, somewhere around $4K for the house and two trucks and cars, not counting the Dog.

Saw the bike and talked to the boy's down there, yep it look's like an $8K + for a rebuild.
I think the only thing i did not scratch was the motor.

Just got the word from my bike insurance guy, they are going to total the bike, the repair came in at 13K so i guess it's over at this point.
Im done, no more bikes in my future, it's been bugging me anyway with so many fuckin nuts on the road, maybe this is happing for a bigger reason.
looks like the only thing i have now with a motor in it, is my lawn mower.
Still in shock about this, so i think a bar is in order on the way home.......

At this point my insurance guy is willing to take another bid, so i went down and talked to Don about coming in at a lower bid, skipping some bolt on shit that i could do myself.
So that's where it is as of wed, i told my ins guy i wanted to keep my dog, my head is still a tad fuzzy everyday and really dont need this shit.

New bid on the bike was turned in thursday,(lower), by friday no news.
So at this point i still dont know if i have a bike anymore.
I will give this AEG Insurance group till monday or so and then im gettin a dam lawyer.
I paid for full coverage, i dont think this is how it's supposed to work.

By the way the current bid for repair is around 10K and change, paid 18k+ for the dog, new clutch 1K, Throw in another $12oo bones for a new PDM module,
So i think im around 21K invested at this point.

Well here it is, FINELY the update 25 days after me kissing asphalt, just got the call from the AEG ins rep yesterday, the bike will not be totaled.
I emailed the rep at AEG as to the fact i have lined up a lawyer on tuesday, and this was true.
This may or may not have had anything to do with the "OK". so it appears i still have a dog.

The dog is almost tore down to the frame, going off to the frame shop to check straightness, dropped off the $10K check yesterday and will be checking on the progress in the coming month. meantime iv been thinking a trike, the wife seems to like this idea, so much so that she said the bulldog was like training for a bigger bike.
Then i showed her the bike i have in mind. here are the specs:
427 Ci, 600 hp, from V8 choppers. somewhere in the 40K range.
Like i told the wife i still need a toy, so is it going to be a cessna ? or a trike ?
As you can see i still wish to ride, likely just not on two wheels....im thinkin, and thinkin.......

Howdy Mr Bill:
Ballance is not an issue, i think it just maybe time for something bigger a badder.
The bike will be rebuilt as good as new, and i will keep it for a wile.
But compared to this trike, i think my dog has met it's match.
Its twice the price of the dog but still cheaper than a cessna.
See if i can post a link here.....

I just like my Freedom
Harry I see your local to the Cessna plant.... I got the VIP tour of the factory I hope there not using China for hardware
You better believe it....good ole corporate outsourcing. For now we're making all the jet landing gear here in Wichita, but they have yet to determine where they're going to build the new jets. We already have a facility in China to produce the Skycatcher. Made in China, reassembled in the USA. Probably marketed as a made in a America product? Now that Textron is calling the shots its only a matter of time before we go the way of Montgomery Wards!!
