Get well soon brother. Tey put up those signs, watch for motorcycles yet they don't think about us when putting the transitions on the roads.

:bang:65 freeway last sunday 4pm. road dry, temp 90, extreamly light traffic.
Old freeway pavement trasnsitions into new pavement with a 4 1/2" curb that runs across the whole dam freeway.
This 4 1/2 transition from old tp new takes place in two inchs, maybe a 75 degree angle, it was like running in a curb at 50 Mph, got over it and the handle bars started going back and fourth, like the bike was trying to wash out.
Tapped the rear brake, seemed to make it worse, tapped the front brake wile backing off the throttle and slowing, was down to aprox 40Mph and the skaking was not stopping, at 40Mph washed out in the #1 lane the bike and myself sliding on the sholder and into the dirt.
No other cars involved, the bike hit nothing and neither did i, just dirt.
All of this took place in aprox four seconds, no drinking was involved.
-----------------------
Me= wearing full leathers, right knee two hours surgry right arm/shoulder road rash.
light sprang left foot/left wrist.
so other than my whitts i fared pretty well.
I have not seen the bike yet, will update when i do........
:bang:

Mark, glad you are okay. I will tell you I hit that same pavement coming back from the Redwood Run a couple weeks ago. I hit so hard that I thought the front end broke off and I even pulled over to check everything. It's rediculous that they are leaving the roads open in that condition.
Anyway, glad it wasn't any worse

Minermark Update:
Feelin way better today, doubled up on these pussy pain meds they gave me,first thing this morning the wife says "what the hell did you do in that bedroom last night ?"
I just looked at her and ask, what ?
She said i was talking smak shit at the TV this morning and thinks im "Normal" again.
So i guess with that statment, im well on the road to recovery.....
Yesterday had her meet the bike shop guy's at the towing yard w/camera.
The bike guy's trailered the bike to their shop, this was a hella relief as you all would
know.
When i gave the wife the camera i thought i would keep the instructions simple, "This is how you turn it on babe, and this button takes the pictures".
Upon returning, she did well, took 20+ pics, however my dumb stupid ass should have showed her how to use THE ZOOM !!!! damm med's anyway......
Ill work on getting the pics up in the next day or so, sittin upright for this blog is about all the energy iv got right now, besides i dont want to miss Springer, Maury and judge judy !
Yeah right, daytime TV SUCKS!
Another thing iv learned from this little adventure is if you have a stay at home otherhalf, upon returning home from your workday, give them a little slack, because no matter how they say, their day was fine, no it was not!
I cannot fathom how a stay at home other half can maintain their whitts, TV absoluty sucks ,(even with med's).....
Talking to Gino @ Citrus Cycles when they got the bike back their shop, was the best iv felt in four day's, it was like being here with your support, but live.
Gino say's it's all surface damage, nothing bent, a little chrome here and there and since i fucked up everything from the front fender to the rear fender (scratced and dented) a new custom paint job is a must do...

Experienced the same a couple of times. Last time I was doing about 75 when transitioning from the highway to a bridge. Got the wobble going, cages started to back off amazingly and I was lucky enough to pull out of it. Glad you are ok.

Glad you are ok. The entire time I read this I was remembering a tumble I took on an old 850 Norton on a wet interstate, about the same deal you had but it was wet and went down immediately.I landed on my knee to my shoudler , rolled over to my butt, and slide down the road about 100 feet like a water slide.

Glad you are much better than it could have been,

Ray

Thanx Mr Bill.
As of today im up and off my walker, i know sound's bad but it really isnt, it's those fucin stiches, and no dam drinking !
AFG ins. Rep went to the bike shop today, i knew he was comin so i called and ask if he could stop by my place and pick up the tow yard paperwork, $681 for five days! aint calif great ? Looks like it's going to need a complete paint job, that's what i heard.
Well he not only stopped by , but cut the check on the spot, now that's pretty cool.
I plan on Phasing backing into drinkin tomarrow .......things are lookin up....... I will be going by the shop and taken some pics, (Before Drinking) Wed.

P.S. The AFG rep told me when i layed the bike down on the right side at 45+mph, it slid on concrete till it caught something and flipped over to the other side to come to a rest.
And here i thought it was only the right side, well at least im consistant when fucking something up, i do it throughly.......
