Low beams not working on headlight

My low beams are not working on my 2002 pitbull headlight but the high beams are. What would be the most likely cause.

My 04 Ridgeback started with that issue then vise versa with only hi beam. Now I have no headlight. I found out last week its my EHC. My signals, brake lights and speedo still work though. My mechanic is tryin to figure out a way to wire my headlight from my ignition or another source but also so both my hi and lo beam can still function. Look up some recent threads about headlight problems. Good luck!

Hmmm, ya think it could be a burnt out low beam filament in the bulb or a bad socket?

Maybe it's that crazy EHC module thing.

Pick one.

This is a really stupid question but how do u get to the bulbs. It looks like it has a ring but i don't see any set screws

I've seen two different kinds of light assemblies for the big dogs. My ridge back has a headlight assembly with two allen head set screws on the bottom side and two drain holes. First take out the set screws then you have an outer chrome ring and then an inner ring. These can sometimes be difficult to remove. When putting the set screws back in DO NOT over tighten. It will cause your ring to get an oval shape and the next time it may not come off.

Set screws are located on the bottom center of the headlight bucket the hole closest to the front of the bucket. I forget the size I thinks it's a 1/16 allen head. You may need to heat it up a bit to get it loose. use a hair dryer.

Can I have your old EHC if the only things wrong are the headlight cause I never ride after dark????

Take out the set screw on the bottom of bucket. Then remove the trim ring, if too tight try putting some rubber gloves on or putting tape on the trim ring to get a better grip. There is another ring under the trim ring and the bucket should come right out afterwards.
Sounds like a dead bulb, should not be the EHC for that year. The bulb is a H4.

make sure you don't touch the new bulb with your hands. us a cloth or cotton gloves when you handle the bulb if you use a halogen. the oil on your skin will create a hot spot causing the bulb to burn out quickly.

Had the same problem on my 07' Mastiff, High beam worked fine, but kept blowing the low beam, I couldn't find the problem. Took in to the dealer (Full House Cycles) they traced it to a crimpped wire in the head light harness that was grounding out. It might be worth a look for you. Good luck.

Just had the exact same problem on my 2002 mastiff earlier this week. Just change out the bulb and you should be good to go. There is a really good how to page on changing your head light on the forum. Its step by step with pictures.
