Low beam not working

I have a 2009 K9 and I'm not getting power to low beam. High beam does work when switched on. Checked plug, bulb and fuses and they are all ok. Any idea what else I should be looking for?

I want to check the wire up to the bulb and that wire being used with a test light or ohm meter set to volts. If my switch is not hard to take and split apart, my toggle is going to flip from hi to low and this still makes contact to the wire out. So my choice is where do I start? At the bulb wire end or at the low beam switch end?

I have to make sure my switch to low is not burned out. I have to make sure my wire to the bulb is not split down the harness somewhere. I have to make my metal fittings show integrity to the wire even though it looks like it's on, but the plastic is stretched and the strands are back at the main wire internal?

Do you have a BDM wiring diagram? Do you have a volt meter? Without both of these you are just going to be chasing your tail. If you don't understand wiring and voltages you need to take it to someone that does understand BDM wiring....not Harley wiring. The low and high beam voltages come directly out of the EHC. If you do not have the high beam indicator on , then the low beam should be on. The problems could be....EHC or wiring between the EHC and headlight. Someone correct me if I am wrong....hell...im just drunk. :cheers:

on my 04 when I lost the low beam it was from a burned pin in the plug I cleaned the pin and socket and stuffed a very small piece od copper wire in the female socket and never had another problem

Okay, let me take a simple disconnect where I pull the main power connector off the EHC, disable said 5v system or the processor-box; turn key on; see if my 12v lights turn on; then switch to hi-beam and this is my drunk test I walk the white beam.

Whereas, 'my low beam filament is fine,' and now I take my ohm meter, turn key on; touch [bike]-ground with black probe; set meter to 20v; touch my center low beam post is the posi+ side with the red meter probe. I now see I have power to the low beam.

Where now, I switch my ohm meter to infinity ohms, touch my probes and watch the swing is the [analog needle] or the [digital 0.00] numbers representing infinity. We want to see if [firedog's] ground can also 'complete a circuit;' you should see this same action we now have key off. So we ohm the bulb socket to frame-ground. This now shows us a complete circuit as in, from the bulb socket; thru the wire; up to the switch; out that switch; to the other wire and onto ground; it says there is nothing wrong with the bulb's ground base from one complete end to the other, it's not the bulb base/pin end, etc.

Just changed the EHC on my friends 05 chopper.
no low beam....nothing but the EHC ..everything else worked ok .

A 05 EHC won't work on a 2009 dog. Are you certain that the H4 bulb plug is REALLY OKAY? If a NEW bulb and a checked GOOD socket still won't work then the next connection UPSTREAM will be the headlight backbone harness connector under the tank. This particular connector is under-rated for the needed DC current and sometimes will fail and can also get corroded from water...check it out.

The EHC is designed to turn on the headlight HIGH beam in case the LOW beam fails.
