Lost my headlight - low first now high as well

No faults on the high/low, but the blinkers are lighting. According to the Big Dog tech, my EHC will not diagnose, it just indicates what signals it's getting. Right and left signals light on EHC, Run lights, just no high or low. Apparently the ignition module sends a signal to the EHC to turn on the headlight when I turn the key, then sends an off signal to the headlight while cranking the motor. Not sure if you saw my other thread, but I jammed my ignition into my battery and that may have finished it off. I'd say it could be the hand control is bad, but that doesn't explain why I can't get a low beam with ignition on. At this point I'll try another EHC, not like I have $500 just laying around, but I want the bike running by Myrtle. If that doesn't work, or the EHC is backordered for an extended period, I'll change the harness/bars/controls after Myrtle, and just stick with my direct headlight switch for now. Right now it's not fused, what size fuse should I put on there? Wire looks to be 20ga, but I gotta double check.

Thats a bummer. Doesn't look like they are going to get the new EHC's out by Myrtle. Not sure about the fuse.

One good thing that comes out of all this shit is I'm learning allot about the bike, and motorcycle electrical was something I never bothered to mess with. Now I have to learn.

E-Bay has EHC's every once and a while.. You need to be carefull with electrical parts... so watch the sellers feed back closely..... I just picked up an 07 latest and greatest EHC and 07 ign module Last week from a guy in the UK. He had 100% feed back so i trusted him... they arrived Monday and plugged them in and they work like a champ.. $101.00 to my door..... Last one i saw went for arround $275.00

Dude I was going to snipe that auction, I just forgot to set it! I wanted the EHC as backup after reading all the failure crap on here. Congrats and good luck with that.

I checked that out gas, but it's for the 05 EHC. I called Big Dog directly to troubleshoot it, and they told me my 04 EHC won't show a fault, it only shows what signals or connections it's opening? For instance when I turn on my right signal, the right signal light flashes every time it sends voltage to the blinker. If the blinker is disconnected or not working, it won't show anything.

Yeah I wasn't sure which EHC you had... there are so many out now. The older style, the serial port, and the USB

Never really stopped........ If it quit while I was cruising I would just cycle the key and restart while going down the road... :2thumbs: got a good POW out of the exhaust once just waiting for a good stretch of weather to go on another long ride... plan on going out to Hillsdale next Friday/Saturday if the weather holds out..

Gas: the new EHC now has 18 led's.. oneof the additional led's lights up when the pc is hooked up to it and i can't rember the other one. so some diag might be different... not sure.

Well thanks for forgetting.. :roll: I also got it as a backup and the ign module was just a bonus.. got 2 now.. only 1 bid till i hit it at the end.. $51.00 + 50.00 to ship never thought it would be that low...

Yeah pretty ironic mine failed a week later. I actually forgot the auction included an EHC, I had my eye on the ignition module because at that point I thought that's all I had fried.
