Looking for Karata 3" Belts

Hope everyone is well. Before I go and have them made, wondering if anyone has any Karata 3" belts they would part with. Goodyear Belt No. is: 20218. Size is 3 inch x 127 teeth x 8mm. Thanks.

There have been a few other members with the 3” karata looking for a replacement belt. Unfortunately to no avail I believe. Pretty sure the BDL 3” I have is a 85 tooth setup. If you find that you can get someone to make one please share the info when you get it here. The last belt I purchased was from D&D Power Drive Belts. Possibly contact them to see if they can help you!

Found a place to make me one - poly fiberglass reinforced was only material available - I ordered 1 - told him there may be others interested - he said he would try to get us a group discount if there was enough interest (perhaps about 5+) - Told them I will keep their name confidential for the moment, but will definitely post more when it arrives and share the name for anyone who is interested if it looks like it will work.

That is some great new! I would definatly be interested in a spare or two. I know there are at least two other members on the forum that have mentioned getting spare belts. Hopefully the quality is on point. Looking forward to hearing your review. Hopefully the price was somewhat reasonable. Though I know we don't have much of an option if we want to continue to use the Karata.

Just looked at Primo. They do have belts, but none specifically for what we need. I need a 3" wide, 127 tooth, 8mm belt. They have a 3" wide 144 tooth, 8mm belt, plus others of various widths, teeth and mm sizes. I will have to call and see if one can be made. Price wasn't too bad for the belts they carry.

Hi everybody. Just a remark in this context. I also have a Karata open belt drive on my Mastiff 2006. As the belt startet to make unusual sounds and always was moving to the outside, I looked for a replacement belt. The first step was to look on the internet. There I found the rest of the still working karata website. According to this site (same number as printed on my belt) my belt should have 127 dents. I counted the dents on mine several times: 137 dents!!! So be careful when buying a new belt. The good news: I found a belt from the manufacturer “Optibelt”. They produce industrial belts with the properties we need. And obviously they produce them in a way that the seller can cut the belts as large as you need. By the way, only the width of the belts is imperial. The distance of the dents (in our case 8mm) and the total length (in my case 1096mm) is metric!
I don’t know if Optibelt is being sold in the USA. If anyone needs a belt doesn’t find one, probably I can help. Also with different sizes and other belt drives!!!

Apologies, it has been about a month since I posted; it's been a crazy start to the summer and today was the first chance I got to have a look at the belt. The belt looks good -- not quite as heavy duty as the original -- but definitely workable. Unfortunately, Paul-man is absolutely right and the one I got is too short, Karate website indicated 127 teeth which I trusted but did not verify - I counted the teeth on the original belt today and it has 137 teeth - I will be calling the guy on Monday to have another belt made up and will post pics as soon as I can get them uploaded.

So.....still crazy busy at work and now another month has passed but the new (and hopefully correct) belt is on the way - should arrive in the next week or so.
