You should ask either Marv or Alhall. I know Marv has had the stock Super G, the Weber, I think a XXX, and now a PSI.

A little expensive for "slip-ons", but less cost than most full after-market exhaust systems. At least with these you're not wasting the entire 'stock pipe', which always bugged me:angry:(these reuse the stock head pipes), and they do sound good!

This was before..pipes were in great shape, had them chromed and put on....maybe should have stuck with the black powder coad, they browned sooner than I thought.

I think everyone should have 3 or 4 sets of pipes. Pipes are like wearing the same old pair of shoes every day......you need to change it up every so often. Some days you like making a little noise......other days you like make a lot of noise. :whoop:

Interesting thread and opinions on here for sure. IMHO, get what you want, it is your bike and it is your funds.

Not familar with Vance and Hines, but they are well know and have probably better QA than some of the others, maybe not as good as some, but more than most.

A smart person would go with a functional pipe and not something just because of looks or how loud it is, but how much it actually improves the sought out performance. That said us riders are not always taking the most logical route, me included (hell I got to figure out which one of the two sets of Hookers I will put one when I get home).

As far as looking like all the rest, goo point, but then again, the way many us adapt to a mod like so many others, a stock bike may be the one that is the most unlike all of the others.

As far as bluing, have seen very few chrome plated steel pipes that did not blue, was much more noticable back in the days when heat shields were not as common and scared calves were!!

Safe riding to all

I wanted different & waited for RSD Hooker Fourbidden. What a mistake that was. Lots wrong that all starts with their engineering / development departments. Just a few complaints, blued on ride home from dealer (25 miles in 35 degree temperature), both front & rear pipes stick out too far from motor (hot spots on pants/legs) be prepared to stick your right leg out an extra 6 inches from what you're used to, really. The front pipe is right up against the bottom of the stock air cleaner (will replace as soon as $$$ appears in my pocket again). Rear pipe is/will be causing major damage on the electronics cover (right side) as soon as the temperature goes up (can already feel the slightest imperfection forming in the paint). These pipes need major engineering changes to work "right" with my K-9. Have e-mailed & snail mailed Hooker with no replies from either in over a month. Do you think they really care? I sure don't. If done right it would be an awesome pipe, looks like a header off of a small block chevy & no one had it. Sorry I made that choice because I had to be first to have it!

They quit making motorcycle exhaust and are acting like it was all a dream and it never happened so no, they don't care and I wouldn't hold your breath waiting on a reply from them about it. One guy there told me they don't even have the employees that worked with motorcycles there anymore so not a single person with Hooker has any knowledge about your exhaust now. On the plus side, it's hard to beat a 75% off clearance sale price right?
