I went from 30 to 35 mpg to 25 to 28 mpg with the 585 cam, well worth it though, if I cruise I can squeeze out 120 miles (including reserve) in a tank of fuel.
To me it didn't matter, but I did drop from 42-45mpg to 30-32 after the 585, but then again I don't do 50-100 miles cruisin on an interstate either to get better mpg.
None of that sounds good to me.... I'll have to see. 100 miles won't cut it. I know John is running pretty fat. So hopefully I don't have to rejet

I guess because I like custom shit....!
I found a painter here in town that can match my paint up for me going to be pricey ..., but that's okay

I just dropped my main jet down to a 76 from a 78 and it helped some, not much though, without the bigger main jet it was way too lean and was backfiring on deceleration, me not likey dat chit!

Thanks Paul, but I need RSD, not sure if the only difference is the openings for the belt. I would not want to guess at it. I agree with you about using someone else's design, ethics would prevent me from selling them.. I talked with Jim a few times and offered to drive to his shop and make it myself, he told me to be patient and when he gets around to it he will give me a call and we'll get one made up.. That was about 4 months ago..

Doug, I was thinking about this Karata issue this AM.

In my opinion now that I think about it if you want the Karata ditch the DSSC transmission and put it a real 6 speed then you go back to the standard Harley starter and standard Karata motor plate. Sell the starter and transmission and your halfway there.

Getting rid of the starter that is no longer manufactured as well as the propertiary transmission isn't that bad of an idea. Not to mention baker has 7 speeds now I bet you could drop in

I think between selling the transmission starter and primary you won't use anymore the lower price of the karata plate for the standard Harley you wouldn't come out to far off from the 3k for this thing..not to mention you'll have a better transmission and starter options galore.

Me neither figured can't be worse than what we got...

Ultima would work too. $700 fully polished and designed for their 124 so would think it hold up just fine. Part of me wishes I did this rather than rebuild the old baker. And if it ever goes any shop can source parts.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/131837957485

The hydraulic one is about $1300 not sure it's worth an extra $600. Unless you want an easy clutch pull
