BDM may be gone but that doesn't mean that you can't get a similar bike. The guys at Kansas Motor Works that left BDM are continuing the bikes but these don't have the issues that BDM had. No EHC...... Oh, and I have always loved that exhaust pipe like I had on my 03 Mastiff. Not many like the 2 into 1's but I do. KMW Regulator
Check them out, they look kool. My favorite bike has always been the Chopper and they have one that looks just like it and I want one. Its called the Regulator.:flag::cheers:

Awesome bike!! I can't wait to see some more pics.

Matt was a wonderful rep for Big Dog and a great guy! I wish him lots of luck. Good talking to him last month at the Park City Chill.

The 107" and 111" motors are very reliable and put out nice power. I would say probably the best S&S has produced... Great choice using the 111" in my opinion :2thumbs:

Raywood, any way you could change that to a PG pic so that this thread can be moved back to the General section where it deserves? I think KMW would benefit much more that way. Thank you!

You guys DO realize I was kidding... ....

Dennis
Yes, I knew you were kidding, and that it was a typo on the ad, but being the butthead that I am, I thought it would be fun to see what the typo actually worked out to be. I never thought it would be that small.

Lastly, the bikes are available in the US if you are interested. We simply have not launched our US marketing campaign yet.
Matt... On your website it says you've been in business for almost 3 years but you haven't marketed the bike in the US yet? Just curious why not?

Also, where are the bikes being built? In Kansas or Belgium?

And lastly, do you have a showroom somewhere that one could check out the scoots?

Thanks!

Hi Dennis,

The bikes are being built here in Wichita, Kansas. We do have a showroom and manufacturing facility open to view the bikes.

The answer to your previous question regarding marketing in the US is much more complex and long-winded. I would be happy to discuss it over the phone with you. Here is the short version:
1.) We want to make sure our foundation in Europe is solid before we move on to other markets. Basically making sure we don't take on more than we can handle. Slow steady growth over greed philosophy.
2.) The price disparity between new and used choppers in Europe is not as extreme as found in the USA. Europe was not flooded with "custom" bikes like the US and, therefore, the used market retains a much stronger value.
3.) The certification process in Europe is very extensive and takes a long time. We needed to get the ball rolling over there.
4.) The product liability laws in the US make it very difficult to sell a product like ours in the States. The insurance to sell here in the States is exactly 12 times what I pay in Europe. Europeans shake their head at us for everybody suing each other all the time. The EU government knows who pays their bills so they protect businesses from unjust lawsuits.
5.) Retail and wholesale financing is easier and less risky in Europe.

So Matt after reading about your bikes I have just one question. What is the price? Good luck with your business.

Most likely stupid idea, but would it work to sell bikes like they sell experimental planes nowaday? Half assembled from factory. Buyer does the other half and you would not need insurance etc....
