Hahaha ...I think this my be the 100th time I've said "Almost done"! I believe I say this more for my sake (motivation) than for others. It's felt like a marathon run and you're trying to convince yourself that the finish line is just over the next hill!
Now I want to order parts for 1300 USD from USA and I will pay customs duty in europe almost 500usdHahaha ...I think this my be the 100th time I've said "Almost done"! The Import Duty Tax on auto/motorcycle parts for Poland is 15%. So, 15% of $1,300 is $195, not $500. See.. I've saved you $305 already, told you I'd help! HahahaNow I want to order parts for 1300 USD from USA and I will pay customs duty in europe almost 500usd
Air...only one set.were they the slim line regular shocks or air? i am looking for a set of just the regular shocks.... Like you said get the stuff while you can!! they would be just a spare set for me! i was just lucky enough to find an 80 spoke front wheel finally! was on back order since Christmas.
I don’t believe Tim is rebuilding shocks anymore. He did my Worx shocks once. But the last time I tried to contact him I didn’t get any response. I’m thinking they pulled the plug on the business. So this Rebuild has been a lengthy process. I've read countless old threads on the forum and spent MANY hours online searching for parts. The air ride components I found on ebay were just a chance encounter while searching for other Big Dog parts. I saw it...and bought it without much thought of obtaining the Shocks. I could have sworn that I read somewhere on the forum that there was a direct replacement shock set, a large Air shock along with a slimline to make the set. I also thought I read a somewhat recent post from Curtis that WorxShocks were back in business...but only for rebuilds. I also thought I read that they originally manufactured the BD air shock set. I did look the company up online, tried to call but it went to voice. Site says they're open. I'll try again later. Now, although I'm not in a hurry, like so many other BD parts, you BETTER get them whenever you find them. So, yes I would go ahead if I find a set.

I agree everything is fads...but fads come back...the bagger big wheel fad is nearing the end and the choppers fade is coming back.I know it appears that we are ever so slowly running out of support options and suppliers. However, having just gone through the whole Rebuild process, I was able to locate everything I needed, or wanted (Except a Belt Drive). This includes the latest search for an Air Shock). Now, it certainly wasn't easy, and there's not a vendor that has it all, but it's out there... SOMEWHERE. I'll admit that I did do a little bit of 'Panic Buying', fearing that I may never have another opportunity later on a few items. But, I only ended up with a couple of 'extras' that I didn't have to buy. Also, as more time passes, more of these older dogs will get scrapped out on ebay. Even hope to find that elusive Belt Drive eventually! Also, some may feel that 'The ship has sailed' on the popularity of BIG DOG STYLE Bikes. Ha! I say that's crap! This style has gone in and out of popularity for 75 years now. I personally get 5 year old kids to 95 year old granny's that want their pictures taken with the bike. So, I think we'll be just fine.
I saw all that too bro...your whole post looks like BS...that's why the terse response. The math doesn't add up to $500 or even close. Try harder next time. The parts for auto/motyorcycle it is 3 to 4.5 % but duty tax ( VAT) 23% depends on the customs officer = shiping coast
Right on! Like I was saying, 5 - 95 year olds don't need HOT BIKE MAGAZINE to tell them what's cool...they KNOW IT WHEN THEY SEE IT! In my opinion, Bid Dog is the Baddest (performance), and Coolest (design), production bike ever made. Show bikes that you can ride every day.I agree everything is fads...but fads come back...the bagger big wheel fad is nearing the end and the choppers fade is coming back.
I have a good friend in Nevada that build choppers and he also works on big dogs and american ironhorse. We talk pretty frequently about some bikes he is working asking my opinion what I think maybe wrong with it or where he can get some of the hard to find parts....He sold his highest price chopper he ever built last year for little over 70,000...he has been telling me and telling me the chopper style fad is back on the west coast and he is seeing more and more bikes and he is building more than ever...
Just like the jet boat fad that was in the 70s and early 80s ...that fad has been back for 5 or 6 years now and its growing crazily...just sold my jet boat last year for more than double what I had in it...i wished I had more of them to sell ha ha..
Correct WORX, that’s what I was referring too about rebuilding. Last I heard they stopped that too.Hahaha . Yeah, I figured something was up when you asked so I started searching and didn't find anything. I was under the impression that Harley had the shock I would need. I as looking at Curtis' site...did WORX originally make the shock?
One of the other facinating characteristics of the GLOW SHIFT gauges is that you essentially have an electronic gauge WITHOUT complicated electronics. A simple example/comparison is an oil pressure gauge. With an analog oil pressure gauge, you connect the oil line to the gauge and you're done. Now, if you wanted to go a step further with Dual gauges, and both having Dual displays (4 Gauge Display) ...suddenly you have a mess with oil Lines, Air lines, and electrical wiring, etc. However, the GLOW operates differently. Using the oil pressure gauge example again, an oil line isn't required with the GLOW. An electronic sensor connects at the same place you would normally connect the oil line (Tappet Screen or Oil Sensor), from there, only wire is routed to the gauge. The gauge is simply a Display Screen. The same process is used with air (Air Ride). No air line connects to the gauge. So, you could potentially have a the Display of 4 gauges, in a Dual Gauge Mount, and all the wiring in a single routed (mostly hidden) configuration. With a dozen or more potential uses (displays), including the Hydrostatic sensor for fuel, suddenly OUR bikes have abilities previously reserved for Harleys with large fairings or complicated electronics. Also, with the 7-Color, changeable screen, you can match these digital gauges to your Dakota Digital. Now, I'm not saying that I'm going to do this, all I'm saying is that I now see ALOT of potential that didn't exist before. We generally have to adopt only the accessories that are offered by the vendors, it would be great to create something original, unique, and that really looks great.Hydrostatic Pressure Fuel Gauge
Anyone familiar with this setup? I only ask in reference to earlier conversations about gauge options. GLOW SHIFT offers an amazing array of gauges that you can CHANGE colors on, also Digital needles. Furthermore, they offer several Dual Gauges. Example, a single gauge could display both (Air Pressure/Oil Pressure), (Oil Temp/Ambient Temp) etc. Dual gauges have Dual sensors. Just thinking....
