Thanks Mick. Question for you. If Frankie at FSD makes these pipes for me (pic) would the carb jet setup you gave me for the BLOW exhaust be the same? I'd like to install the new carb in two weeks and prefer to change the jets before I install it.
I would have to say that would be really close to what you would need with those also. Wouldn’t be much of a change.

Thanks Mick...that's what I'll go with. Closest place I found with a Dyno is 2 hours. I think it's worth the trip to get it dialed in correctly. I want to finish everything first and do the best I can with adjustments...see how far I'm off. I really don't expect 100% completion until February or even March. Mostly I'm waiting on my paint guy, nothing I can do about that. Really appreciate your help on this.

Spent an incredible amount of time on this Wheel while I had the hubs off. I worked on it every evening after work for at least two weeks. If you blow the picture up it looks like the frame and pulley are scratched but that's just a distortion in the picture. I eventually achieved the results I wanted...a perfect mirror finish! Working on the front wheel now for a match. I asked the owner of the Ceramic Coating Shop if he would do the wheels while they were disassembled (because the pulley and rotor impedes access) but he didn't like that idea. If the Coating is sprayed on I think it would be fine but application by hand will be more challenging. As I get closer to completion I have to avoid the impulse of cutting corners...patience isn't easy for me. I REALLY want to see this thing finished, but ONLY if it matches the image I've had in my head from the beginning. I'm convinced from the images I've seen from the photo gallery that the Ceramic Coating will bring out the colors of my flames...really make them pop, as well as illuminating all of the chrome. I'm NOT happy with the Grips I have, I wanted the Accutronix Tribal to match my Pegs. I actually had no idea that BIG DOGs have different size Handlebars. This makes no sense to me because they don't offer any more options. I could say the same about the Forward Controls and passenger Pegs. The only thing they've accomplished is preventing us from accessing 1,000 aftermarket options! Oh well...

I've mentioned several times that once I get everything together on the bike it has to go to the paint shop for some touch-ups. Mainly where the V&H exhaust support bracket went, paint is wore off. So, while it's there I was going to have him swap out my Primary inner/Outer and everything inside. I've always liked the Ultima Open Primary and I'm thinking this would be the time to do it. Question; If I swap to the Ultima transmission, are there any major problems with installing the 3.35" belt Drive? Also, what are the pros & cons of the swap. My paint guy said that clutch can be quite noisy on some. Don't think I'd like that but maybe it's something easily forgotten about after a while. I'd really appreciate any and all comments on this subject. Read an earlier post from Knothead...what do you think? I'm thinking if I divorce my wife, I should be able to get enough out of her wedding rings to cover the expenses. That REALLY has me excited about the swap!

Ultima does not make a open primary for 05 and up model big dogs...and there rsd tranny does not fit either...you would have to move your transmission frame plate for any rsd trannys other than baker dssc tranny for it to fit...if i was you I would just rechrome the covers and ride it just like it is

Yeah like Knot said you’re SOL on the transmission swap. You could possibly find a baker RSD open primary somewhere but you might still need to divorce the wife to afford it! Good Luck!

I've been searching for another right side open primary and while at PCBW I might have found someone that could or would make us open belt drives. But long story short, there is a guy in Germany, I have his FB and web site, he has a CNC shop and while at PCB I talked with this man about building open primaries for our bikes. Told him about Bakers open belt drives and he mentioned if I sent him the motor plate or any other part that he could make them. The only question I have is how is the offsets done on the motor plates and do we want a Baker style belt drive again? or do we worked something out with Karata if anyone can get ahold of anyone there.

I would go for a Karata. I'd be a little leery of having one made for parts/support reasons. What would Karata want...a certain number of people willing to put up a deposit??? If so, count me in.
No, from what the woman who runs it now said on here they still have parts for their belt drive systems just noone making motor plates. But other ppl say they have reached out for parts but can't get a reply from the ppl working there. That's why I wonder do we want to make a motor plate for their system or for baker. Cause I'm pretty sure Andrew can make other parts for the baker belt drive systems.

I like the BAKER...wish the belt was a little wider though. I'd be interested in what Andrew has to say on this subject. So often there's a handful of people that have tiny scraps of information that seem to contradict one another. We really need to put all the pieces together BEFORE we pull the trigger on this. I personally don't have the contacts necessary to research this, or the time. All I'm sure about is that I like the KARATA and the BAKER, and would be happy to buy either one, as long as we have a reasonable expectation for parts/support. I realize there is no such thing as a 100% guarantee. Things/companies change direction overnight. However, if you feel comfortable with Andrew and the BAKER, count me in...I'll commit to the purchase. I think I feel a little better going with BAKER because there are still BIG DOGS out there using them and they obviously need parts from time to time. So yes...if I had to choose right now, it would be BAKER. Also, I know there has to be a C.A.D. drawing used for the C&C machine, can Andrew get access to this drawing from BAKER? It would ensure that the part is made EXACTLY as the original ones were. This too would make me feel alot better about the BAKER. What are your thoughts...as well as anyone else?

I sent my seat (solo) and sissy bar pad to a guy in Italy. I'm sure I could have found someone equally talented in the US, but I really like his work...especially the way he uses dyes, the colors really pop. We plan to work on various designs before actually getting to work. I'm having two different designs made for the Sissy Bar Pad. One will be a military style that I'll use when riding with a group of local vets. The other will be to highlight/match the seat design. So we're thinking a 3-D multi-skull design for the seat. Then for the Pad, I want a skeleton hand coming up out of the ground of a graveyard (Headstones/Crosses in the background), with the middle finger sticking up. Basically a final (F.U.) parting gesture to the world upon death. If possible, I'd like a set of military Dog tags hanging from one of the crosses, signifying that it's a military graveyard with me and my 82nd buddies all buried there together. Don't know if there's enough room for this type of detail.

So, these patches and ribbons will be Hand tooled and dyed. One of the ribbons is missing, I'll just get a picture of the design and send it to him.

If not on the new one, leave it be. Its a 'bomb sight' diffuser. John Sachs should chime in soon with actual wisdom. When ya bolt the coil cover back on dont forget the fiber washers underneath.
