Yeah...at least I'll know one way or the other if they fit. If the pipes haven't been modified then no doubt they're not going to fit. I agree with Snuffy 100%...they're LSD pipes. When you look at the image (thumbnail...pic 1) where they're advertised as RSD, it is a RSD bike, but older model. Can't really even tell if it's a K9 or not. I'm not going to just give up on them, I'll try to get them modified and then rechromed. We'll, making progress on other matters. Several orders came in today. I mentioned before that I had to have the mounting bracket refabricated (1/4" thicker) on the Tribal Forward Controls (Brake side) Pic 2. Fits perfectly...I'll send it with the next shipment to Spacecoast. Master Cylinder Rebuild kits from Curtis arrived so I can get started on those soon. I've already got all the replacement Bolts and new pads. Saw another item on Curtis' site today and ordered it (front & back). It's a Bleeder valve that as I understood it, will only allow air to escape while bleeding without fluid dripping everywhere. Also received Galvanized Spray Paint for the Black Oxide front Hub Bolts. I'll also Spray the front and rear Axle Inserts (whatever they're called). They're made of steel and had a small amount of rust on them. Throttle Cables will be here Friday (thanks Snuffy). I'll wait on installing the tank until I get the battery Box back. If there are any electrical issues with any of the new wiring I'll just have to pull it right back off so may as well wait on that. Enough to keep me busy for the weekend.

It's supposed to be delivered Monday. Got a few small items done today. Slow going though. Because I had things chromed that were not Chrome before, there have been a number of tolerance issues. A good Dremmel Kit is your best friend with these issues. Ordered a Oil Cooler/Stash Tube kit from Donna. Still waiting on oil tank & battery Box getting powder coating. Test fitted the mounting plate (Forward Control)...that was machined...perfect match. I'm going to send a small package to space coast Monday. Still polishing front and rear wheel assemblies...wow...a tremendous amount of work to make them look new again. Pully, rotors, spacers are all new. I going to continue working on them until I'm 100% satisfied. I feel pretty good about the progress and I think it's looking really good. There's still ALOT of work to do but continuing to move forward.

Wait did I read that correctly? You've sent almost every thing out to be chromed, but not the wheels? Why not? I had my wheels chromed on both bikes and I can tell you the cleaning is sooooo much easier. I still have a few billet pieces (oil pump, motor casing) and hate they weren't chromed.

Honestly...I never even thought about doing the wheels. I've lost track of the number of hours I've spent polishing them trying to get them looking as new as possible. I'm hoping that if I do a really great job in preparing all the remaining bilket and then have the Ceramic Coating applied then my endless hours of polishing will come to an end. If it doesn't, then I'll pull them off and have them chromed. Did you do it all, hubs, pulley, spacers, etc?

I’m curious to know how the ceramic coating works and how long it lasts especially on the polished billet. Would be nice to polish and recoat it occasionally.

My understanding is that once the Ceramic is applied you cannot polish anything without removing the Ceramic...nor is it necessary. They coat everything, including the exhaust. My brother rides a BMW and he just traded in for a new one. While at the dealership he mentioned 'blueing' issues on his current bike. The sales rep told him to have Ceramic Coating applied to the new bike. No more blueing! So, this is why I've spent so many hours polishing, because I know that once the Ceramic is applied I won't be able to polish any more. The guy I spoke with at the company (Ceramic Coating) told me that their best product has the ability to self repair mild blemishes. I usually ride with a solo Seat but periodically I switch for a passenger. I don't know how this will hold up to 'seat rub' or the marks sometimes left by the suction cups. I'll find out. I'm also counting on the Coating to protect all the chrome. That's why I've got everything taped up until I can get the Coating applied.

The cost was $1,200 - $1,400 for the premium product. Each product they offer has different chemical properties. I wanted them to do some of the items (wheels) while they were disassembled because I thought they could do a better job but they didn't like that idea. I don't know what their application process is, whether it's Hand applied or taped off and sprayed like paint. Like the rest of you guys, I spend alot of time polishing to keep my bike looking good. Getting older this is getting to be something I'd like to avoid if possible. The Coating is supposed to offer scratch protection as well as a permanent wax/polish. Just rinse off and dry.

Originally, yes. When my bikes were at Gateway back in 2018 I had Josh send everything out for chroming even the spacers. But after getting the bikes home and noticing the Mastiff was beating me to death I replaced the shocks, front forks were rebuilt with Progressive springs and everything. I found my swing arm pivot shaft broken in half. And after fixing this I then noticed my rear tire wasn't center of the rear fender. So I replaced my spacers after finding the center point with some regular billet ones. My plan was to have a second set made have them sent for chroming and next time I change my belt to swap them out. But I lost the page that had my measurements of the spacers on there now.

Have you ever considered the Ceramic Coating? My main concern with having things chromed is scratches. With the billet you can usually polish things out, not so much with Chrome. As with alot of things new, I won't know the results of the Coating until it's done. I've seen a truck that had it applied and it looked absolutely beautiful. The deepest gloss I've ever seen. So, that's what I'm hoping for. I do know the shop I've chosen has been in business for about 15 years and is considered the best in Savannah. My paint guy recommended them to me. I'm hoping to achieve what you have...rinse off and dry. If it turns out less than my expectations then I'll try something else but I feel reasonably confident that I'll be satisfied. I'll certainly keep everyone posted on the outcome. I don't expect to be finished until Spring...I have no choice but to wait my turn with my paint guy.
