You look down the fill spout and the oil should come to the top of the oil tank, not the fill spout. When full and running you can see the oil flowing across the bottom of the fill spout.

Different models and years varies weather to check on kickstand or upright. If you look at the 07' service manual some models are kickstand and some are upright. I believe it has to do with whether it has a dipstick or not and the different types of oil tank.

If you don't see a drop of oil under your bike it just means your not home yet.
Now where are we? Are we still at three quarts?
I'm trying to keep up but sometimes I get so confused.
